What Shitty weekend...
Dodgey warm Charcoal Chicken roll for lunch Saturday made for a trip down memory lane...

I haven't felt that average in a long time, havent driven the bus and havent had the cold shakes like that in 20 odd years. Just happy I didnt get the kids one like the plan was!

Complete with both ends

So I missed the weekend, didnt see footy nothing :(
Hope that never happens again...

Food poisoning is never good....

I cooked up a turkey rolled roast last night and I'm paranoid about it being cooked correctly after my wife spent 3 days in hospital a couple of years ago from a turkey sandwich.

Daughter and I got it last year after camping from eating some sour cream we brought home in the esky.  Wife and son didn't eat the sour cream and were fine.

Heave Ho!! Repeat....

Second that.

We stopped in Benalla for takeaway noodles on the way back from easter camping a few years back, couldn't get the kids to eat anything, much to our frustration at the time. Eight hours later the wife and I were taking turns in the bathroom. Luckily the kids we're all ok, but we had to get some help in for a few days - pretty hard looking after kids when both parents are crook.

Still can't bring myself to buy takeaway noodles!

I been lucky never had food poisoning. I even eat from those typhoid trolleys in Bali when I go there , never had a problem. The secret is to make sure there is plenty of alcohol in stomach to help kill the bugs in the food

Street vendors are usually fine as they cook it in front if you, it's stuff that has been sitting around for awhile that is the problem

I've had food poisoning twice - both in Perth.  The first time was a little gem called Campylobacter.  The one saving grace is that there is no vomiting. However, severe stomach cramps, lost 3kgs in 48 hours, dangerously dehydrated, 2 visits to hospital.  Pain was up there with gallstones.  Second time was a more standard variety of food poisoning, both ends going.  Ended up on a drip due to dehydration.  Not much fun so I sympathise.

Umm.  I've had it twice, you've had it 20 times.  I don't know you but I can confidently assure you that I have eaten more dodgy food in dodgy corners of the planet. So you are right about being piss weak, but just got confused about the holder of that attribute.

Ok guys, I thought I received some banter and was just serving it back.  Didn't mean to come across so retentive.  I've just started holidays so should  unwind a bit now.  8)  Was all in good fun - next time I'll include some emoticons.

I feel for you lost, it's pretty ordinary. I coped it couple of weeks back after eating a hot breaky on a airline, which is a pretty rare feat as plane food is usually safe if not tasteless and uneditable.
Here for a good time, not a long time!

One thing I learnt from the doctor in Perth was that it's not necessarily what you ate for the last meal or two, in can be from up to 24 hours earlier (depending on the particular virus).  In my case, he suspected it was what I ate in Sydney the previous night - so a bit over 24 hours ago.  I always thought it was from the previous 6-12 hours but apparently not always.

My doctor told me that if it occurs soon after (3-6 hours) then it is from the toxins the bacteria have already produced, so you get the effects straight away.

If instead you eat a small amount of bacteria, then it can be up to 5 days later (when enough have multiplied and released enough toxin) that you get sick.

Remember, its not the bacteria that makes you sick, it's their poo! :) :)
