Gadgets you have made
« on: September 04, 2012, 10:59:01 AM »
We were at Bunnings the other day trying to solve an issue we think we will have.

After getting a shiny new CT we want to keep it clean, but knowing our kids (and the other kids we camp with) this is not going to be an easy task. Can we fit a full size broom in the CT, probably but do we want to take the space? no, there is plenty of other stuff to try and squeeze in.

So LB goes to the paint section and finds a retractable extension pole for paint brushes etc. then over to the broom section where the Bunnings lady was very helpful. pulled off all the broom heads until we found one that would fit the handle.

So here is the result:

Not that exciting but I thought a good solution to a potential problem.

I did the same and use a detacheable rake & broom head.
That way we can rake the grass before setting up the tent and use the broom to keep inside clean...

Rake is the next thing on our list, just need to find one that fits the screw on the handle.

Wondering if there is any other heads we might get as well.

That's a good idea, if you get one long enough you can use it as a flag pole for a myswag flag :)

One day Bunyip will take a photo of our Fire Barrell. Is amazing what you can do with half a 44 gallon drum, an old trampoline and a free Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!

And here is my other gadget that goes with us every time.

44 gal drum and the remains of a trampoline. I have not done any welding since I was in high school and do not have to gear in any case. One day I may do a welding course, would make things heaps easier. At least this way when the drum dies we can just replace it  ;D

Why not use 1 handle for both broom and rake? put broom head on loose, drill hole through it and fit an "R" clip do same with other end for rake, dob of paint so you know which end belongs where

When we bought our trailer, it came with a pool cleaning extendable pole, to use as a TV antenna and it now does double duty as a flag pole as well.

The TV thing sits on top.

Thats a 6 foot fence in the background, so it gets some height.
