Do your homework on prices . Then a camp oven & a trivit for it  & a lifter . You can then cook well out there. A chair to sit on & if its cold a metal pan or dixie to use as a chair warmer . Place hot coals in pan then place it under your chair , nice warn chair seat

I'd be a bit worried about putting embers that close to the 'vent hole' Speewa...

I'm not so good with advice... can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

Has to be a very good camping chair and esspresso coffee machine...I used to laugh at my wife, her sitting on her foxy lady in comfort camping and telling her that the cheap ones are just as good. In the end she is right, so got an expensive chair and nothing beats haveing an afternoon snooze in the sun, camping recovering from a hangover..

Thanks for all the great ideas. Last time I put embers too close to a vent hole it ended with blue flames and a strange smell!

A good chair is looking like the most votes at the moment.

Cheers

We looked at quite a few designs and brands before we bought our camp chairs wanted flat chairs to go under camper cover on top of bed.  Ended up getting companion brand from big green shed 8 position lay back chair pillow that you can move up/down to where you want it to sit and carry bag only used a couple of times but seem comfy need to have something close by to sit your drink on or in if you not holding it.  You can view them on the web site.  No affiliation with the store just thought I'd share what we had got.  Hope the show is a good one didnt realise it was on and went to Albury one last weekend not a lot there would of been good to go to Melb one but things on.

Reviewing the list of exhibitors at the show, personally I'd wait until the Leisurefest at Sandown in Oct.

Oh and Happy Birthday

Hey Big Tread,

I found something at Spotlight the other day that might inspire more than a few people here gadget wise.

Neoprene (wetsuit) can, stubbie, bottle carriers.

The bottle carrier is for wine, but hey, the boys Rum fits in it well ($7).  Insulated and somewhat protected from the elements.  Convenient hand friendly handle.

The can & stubbie holders take a 6 pack ($14).  The thing I liked about them was that none rubs against another (they all have their own little compartment), and if you took them from home cold, just like a stubbie cooler, they keep their cold for a fair while.  Convenient hand friendly handle.

My butane gas torch.

Needed it to get the fire going after the rain today.

Gold!

Also, when we got back from a wet old walk this arvo I tried out an innovative firelighter I had heard about; 'corn chips'.

I had a stale packet left over from our last trip in May this year. So why not!

Worked a treat.

The butane torch helped though!!!

Cheers

(not that I doubt you! I just need to see this for myself)

Note to self - depart shop before torching corn chips.

And it scares off the other campers too.

Banjos are like that, if you play the right tune.

Agree, we bought some reclining chairs not long ago and took them on our recent trip and they are great, but do take up some room.... but who cares.. and the headlamps are a must also...

Our wireless inside / outside thermometer and clock

It was an Aldi special for $15.  I put the outside part on the front box under the awning so when we are tucked under the doona on a winter morning I can see on the inside part what I will have to brace for when making the morning visit to the loo!  Press a button at night to light up the time and you can set an alarm but never use that when camping. It shows max and min temps and you can even set an alarm if a min or max temp is exceeded if you can think of a use for that.

Perfect gadget for weather freaks.

Cheers
Oddy
