Cabin Fever do you suffer as well?
« on: August 09, 2012, 11:33:22 AM »
Do any other Myswaggers get cabin fever like I do?

Winter in Tassie is not that appealing for camping, even standing around a raging fire you have to rotisserise yourself to keep warm, so the opportunities are not that great for several months.

This gives me that burning desire to get out there come the end of the cold weather.

If I dont get out I get agitated, and all I can think of is packing the gear up getting away. The better weather is starting now and the urge is overwhelming!

If you are a sufferer like me, what do you do to keep your sanity?

I spend more time on myswag......which sometimes makes it worse!
I spend to much time planning the next big trip....
I get the ozpig out and light a fire in it just to give me some relief....
I clean and reseason all my cast iron gear......

Any other ideas?  ;D

pack the trailer and jump on the boat and come camping in freezing melbourne instead. just had a great hail storm here.
Snow on the mountains must be down to 500 by now.

I have been suffering for just over 12 months now ( Haven't been camping since this time last year ), thats what happens when you decide to rebuild the 4x4 and I still have 2 to 3 months left on it.

While it is nowhere as cold up here, we get days & days of rain which gives me cabin fever. Even getting into the shed does not cure it after a week or so.

As a result, I just rug up, grab the umbrella & walk the adjacent golf course.

We have not used our camper for almost a year.  The 4x4 has only been dirty once this year.  All this is about to change though and I have made the promise that we will be using both of those things at least 3-4 times next year as a minimum.  Cabin Fever?  Oh yeah I know what it feels like.
