Jayco 2011-12 V's Older Jayco canvas
« on: July 30, 2012, 10:42:10 PM »
We are looking at upgrading our 09 Dove with a new Jayco camper, model undecided?? :-\
In looking at the new ones in the yard & even internal pics of used ones we have noticed the canvas seems much thinner than what was used on the older vans and lets in far more sun light.
Has any one with a current generation van noticed this & have you found it a problem? What have you done if any thing to over come the extra sunlight to make it darker in the mornings.

We really like the new vans but this is almost a deal breaker for us :(

Not as light as these I trust-

Looks like parachute material which might last pretty well but....
Are the camper manufacturers getting like the food manufacturers and rather than put up their prices with rising costs they just give you less in the package so you don't get sticker shock.

You've probably answered your own question re that upgrade.
There's no Great Evil conspiracy against consumers within engineering, manufacturing and supply. Just the many tradeoffs incurred to satisfy diverse tastes, priorities and wallets. But first comes all the insatiable Gummint eggsperts, nanny-staters and usual suspects.
