Online Tool Shop?
« on: July 23, 2012, 10:17:52 PM »
Hi Swaggers,

Looking to purchase a 1/2" Router, quality brand.

I remember reading a thread before recently on tool shop recommendations, but cant find it on myswag general discussion.

There was some good reviews passed around on that thread.

Thanks
Cheers Cruisindub

Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

Hi Crusiindub
I frequently use the Sydney Tools I think it is called.  I am that remote that I had to get it checked out completely, but I have purchased all my Milwaukee gear through them.  I actually googled Milwaukee and that is how I found them, they actually care about their customer and have incredible return to base warranties and everything, which obviously is something I need.
Regards

Trade Tools

Their own brands (Renegade, Trade Tools) are usually very good value for money and good quality - can't say how they compare on price for Hitachi, Makita, etc.

I have a bunch of their Renegade 10.8v cordless tools that are the best value I've come across in ages.

Unless I've used a particular make/model of unit, I think tools are one of them things Im happier to go and hold and touch before handing over coin.

I hav to say I reckon the Triton router is the best value for money.
Not to mention the biggest motor as well.
And while your at it you may as well buy the router table.
Go on.... You know you want to  >:D

Timberline tools in the US is good for online blades and bits.  I got two Freud Blades delivered a couple of years ago for less than I could buy one here.  Also bought a heap of Jet clamps (like Besseys) and despite being 1200 long they were still cheaper by a long shot than here.
