New dual cab

Spoke to the Guests Bros and they said that fitting dual battery in the engine bay is no problems.

Paid 64k for mine and still waiting. Should be next month.

To have a 70 series dual cab would be excellent  -- For the people who would like to have a Toyota 70 series dual cab ute, I hate to disappoint  but the pictures and the stories of Toyota making a dual cab 70 series are probably fake and a hoax.

The article (rumour) about the Toyota 70 ute appears on car advise http://www.caradvice.com.au/157052/toyota-landcruiser-70-series-dual-cab-ute-coming/ It's dated February 01st, 2012 -- And no sources of where the actual news came from.

(Just zoom in on it) (Yes "Byrnes James" would probably sell me a drawing if I need to write an article and sell it)

I mean this has been kicking around for years



Yes there are forum posts dating back to 2007 for those pictures.

O.K. some sad news about the Toyota 70 series an article titled "Toyota To Kill Off 70 series"

If you read this in the last link in your post "The long-awaited availability of ABS brakes from October and an all-new dual-cab version also due on sale by year’s end", you might have scrapped you last post. Besides that I (and others) have already placed orders for these vehicles at our local Toyota dealers.
It gets a bit frustrating reading posts like yours. You're not the only one here to state miss informed opinions like they are facts. It's hard to know what to take seriously around here some times.

Besides that, I've been following your Mahindra thread with interest. Good on you for taking what some would think a risky decision.

Yes true -- It does look like Toyota is planning to do some upgrades to the 70 series with ABS  etc -- and there is a mention that article that the 70 series will be still around in 5 years, from a Toyota source -- still note the sensationalist headlines of "Toyota to kill off 70 Series",   now you might understand my suspicion with the dual cab 70 series. If the 70 series dual cab does appear it will be a top seller for Toyota, and a top 4wd, there would be quite a lot of people let alone businesses willing to buy one. If you have placed an order for one, do you have any specs as yet? will it be coming out in a tub version, or just a cab chassis version?  Projected Pricing?  May be about $75000 mark?

2 models, Work Mate and GXL.
GXL will come standard with 130 litre tank and front and rear diff locks.
Cab chassis only.
A/C still an extra.
No idea about pricing, but $75,000 sounds about right to me for the Work Mate. I hope I can get the GXL but I'll wait and see how much it is.

Might take the Navara V6 for a spin - though the engineering on the rest of that vehicle is so aged. And as for all the 4 cyl diesels - I have an aversion, having owned a 6 cyl diesel for years (and loving the torque wave).

I don't think that you will be disappointed with the Nav. Ours has been awesome. We've done the lift, changed the rubber and ditched the dicky side steps but apart from that it is stock.

Real world example I can give is a 3 point turn in a soft beach exit on Moreton with a full tracky deluxe tourer and it didn't miss a beat.

Realistically I won't be ready till this time next year, by that time the accessory suppliers will be geared up with full ranges of bolt on equipment and the bugs of the newer models should be sorted or at least known to all with their ears and eyes open.......

The GLX 70 series Dual Cab with 130 litre tank and front and rear diff locks being standard sounds awesome but it's sounding more like a base of $85,000  :'( but defiantly will be best available ute when released

I might have to make a decision a bit sooner than expected, my VW transporter has crapped itself in a big way, if fixed in their service centre $25k..... They're dreaming, I'm crying
