Last drive in I went to was the Wagga drive in back in '85. Before that was the one in just north of Adelaide back in '83. Those were the days.  :cup:

it was almost a fortnightly/monthly thing back then, so common to go to the movies, jumpin the fence, or piled into someones car/floor/boot... :)

although I did miss having the crappy speaker hanging off the window this time :(

I wonder if the drive in will make a come back in the show "The Shire," looks like great viewing and nothing like when I grew up there.

To keep it on track the drive in was always a good night out with friends

As a Kid we lived about 200yards up the road from Caringbah Drive in
and used to climb under the fence.

Years ago I was living in Tooronga and there was a drive in just up the road ( where Myers head quarters are now), anyway 4 of the guys I was boarding with were deaf & dumb, and 1 night they told me they were going to the drive in & did I want to go, so muggins me said yes.
B*****ds parked in Toorak road , they could lip read the show while I didn't have a clue what was being said, pr**ks  ;D ;D

our panelvan club do drive-in nights a fair bit.
Nothing like seeing 10 to 20 panelvans all drive in and reverse into the car parks.
Then all the tailgates open up and we set up.
Great nights out in our tin tents.

When living in Kununurra, we used to go to the drive in every weekend over the dry, great night out.

The Yatala drive in is rad, I have a hilux tipper which I throw a queen size mattress in the back of, we face the wrong way and tilt the tipper a little, then all four of us pile in the back

Unreal fun

The drive in closed at Warwick many moons ago.  They knocked all the bumps out of it and put houses there.  Funnily enough I reckon 80% of the people living there may well have been conceived there.

Went to twin drive in in Melbourne many many moons ago, with my then GF and a mate who'd not long become single.  I don't recall what we went to see but took a wrong turn (honest we did) and ended up parked, watching Emmanuelle L'Anti Virge, before we realised our mistake.

Well. Poor old mate's getting all hot under the collar because he's not long split up with his girlfriend. A single girl, as in a girl in the car to our right on her own, had all of his fantasy juices flowing full bore. He just couldn't make the move to her vehicle to see if she wanted company!

Ahh, memories  of Caringbah drive in. My mum never lets me forget the time when I was about 2 and they stuffed me full of lollies and crap and then I vomited all over my dad in the drivers seat. They tied to keep watching but couldn't  take it any longer. Came back the next week and banned me from any food. Started going to Bass Hill drive in with our kids for a few years until closed down to put more housing. Very disappointed, the movies were a sell out each week.
