Lashings of 6B&S called for!
« on: July 13, 2012, 08:30:31 PM »
I see the Myswag electrical section is not alone, although this lot clearly need regular lashings of dual core 6B&S  :police:  rather than the lighter single core down to earth treatment occasionally

There's no Great Evil conspiracy against consumers within engineering, manufacturing and supply. Just the many tradeoffs incurred to satisfy diverse tastes, priorities and wallets. But first comes all the insatiable Gummint eggsperts, nanny-staters and usual suspects.

Bunch of old whiners, they ban you for having a differing opinion to the mods and don't like people posting pictures.

They also need a cup of this

Whats strange is the mechanical section never has the same problem.

Maybe ppl google stuff in electrical and then post away pretending they know what they are on about whereas mechanical stuff you really have to have done it otherwise you look like a right knob.

Weird  ???
My alternative to cheap import trailers;

Mechanical things you can see, hear, touch and smell.  You can do none of those things with electrics.  That in itself is one of the main reasons these threads go astray.

I thought it was obvious........

Electricians are just plain NUTS...............
Therefore, everything they post is gibberish and someone else thinks their gibberish is better.
And thus the war begins >:D >:D >:D

Just don't get the lobotomy and then you wont feel the need to become involved in anything electrical.

Nah just kidding.
I think its because of the lack of understanding and ability to explain succinctly that the fires flare.
Everything needs its dark side.
Let it be.

Yep, I love the fascination with 6B&S here on MySwag

Some of the pictures posted up of solar/auxilliary setups make me smile. The over engineering is great to look at. I'm not saying it won't work but some of the money that gets spent is amazing.

I think the over engineering in some of the mechanical things make me smile too, but lets not talk about that shall we?

I'll be the first to admit that I have no qualifications in anything electrical, but what I do have is a can do attitude. Whenever I have put my two cents worth forward it has been based upon my own documented experiences that I have presented for others to view on this forum.  Sure, you sometimes have to bite your tongue, particularly when criticism is leveled towards something you have posted, but the attitude I try to maintain is that I'm sharing my experience/knowledge. Over 1500 people have read my contributions to myswag in regard the mods I have made to my camper and other efforts. The thrill I had when the first 100 reads of my first real contribution to myswag was better than when it rolled over 1000.
I think where forums or even clubs for that matter generally have problems is where businesses get involved as they see forums or clubs as a means to sell their wares. This benefits us all, without a doubt. The benefit is quickly lost however, particularly for me, when they are aggressive towards competitors on the forum, or members who they feel have challenged their credibility and therefore their ability to make an income.

I think this forum is better at jumping on that than others.  One of the great things about this forum is that there is no advertising or sponsorship, also none of the moderators (well none that I know of anyway) have any commercial interests.

I've not noticed any problem with the moderators on this forum, in fact, on the whole, it's a bloody enjoyable experience. I don't think anyone would argue though, that the vast majority of aggression (electrical thread comes to mind), comes from members who have a reputation to uphold that benefits them financially.

Edit: However, I would argue that there is no advertising in the electrical thread.

All I know about electricity is when you trim the sheath with an all metal stanley knife you get a funny tingling sensation .
