Double Use Tools
« on: July 12, 2012, 09:08:13 AM »
Hi folks,

I am starting to put together my gear needed for getting away in the camper trailer with the family. In the past i loved reading about items that people carried that must have a dual purpose to be included. I had a search to find them but couldn't find a thread so thought I would open one up for suggestions.

What items do you carry when camping that serves more than one purpose?

A bucket (cleaned with it, filled water in it, peed in it, spewed in it) not all in the same bucket ;D
Leatherman multi tool (cause it makes me look like i know what im doing when i have no idea)
Beer (you can celebreate with it comiserate with it, have one when you have stuffed up which makes you stop and think and can ofted stop a bad situation becoming worse)

I always have my leatherman on my belt, and I carry duct tape, two guages of wire and my camp oven (anything can be cooked or boiled in that).

Hi
large plastic floppy laundry tubs fit together nicely if one is empty.
Flexible enough to be pushed into tight spaces.
Good storage/carrying/cleaning kids.
cheers

It only really has one use but the Cresent Rapid wrench can in theory replace a whole socket set - in reality it's no where as good as a socket set but it you don't have room for a full set it's bloody handy.  I think I got mine from Bunning for about $20.
