With restricted space like a roof topper, a 12v electric blanket and plenty of close human contact is the go.
I got a sweater for Xmas, really wanted a moaner or screamer.

If you've only got the room of the roof toptent then a good set of merino thermals, some under bed insulation (space blanket, etc,), a wollen underlay AS WELL and some more blankets or sleeping bags for on top. You'd be surprised how warm you can be if you use good gear. Use down sleeping bags or doonas.

From Kimberley Kampers. They are quite dear but we camp in areas that do not have power so they are ideal. We have only just got it and ran it for one night while camping with the scouts at Coward Spring where it got to -3C overnight. Even the kids gave up with the campfire and all went to bed at 8pm as it was too cold to sit around. It used about 1L to run for almost 11hours, and lowered the second battery in the car from full charge to about 12.3V. Not bad.

Why the 12v usage on the diesel heater?
Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

Fan to blow the hot air, fuel pump and some of the bigger Webasto units use glycol to store and transfer the heat just like a car.

We used a Memoryfoam matteress in our rooftop tent for 6 weeks. It kept us real warm with sheepskin on top of that with a flannel sheet. Sleeping bags on top, beeeewdiful!!!

Hi,
I have one mounted in the luggage area, combustion air and exhaust are vented to out side, and the cabin air is re circulated through the heater.

I am some what puzzled as to what Kimberly have done, because mine sets the heat out put with the control, and the temperature is measured from the air entering the heater.
If the cabin is getting near the set temperature, the heat output is reduced.

Does yours adjust the heat out put as the room temperature rises, or is it a constant heat out put that you adjust as needed?

cheers

You should read this before you think about any thing in your roof top tent. Not sure what caused it but should find out on Wed as I have some work to do in the hospital while there.
