I like to blend a good port (or Tokay or Muscat) with some reasonable cask port and let it sit for a while.  If I am feeling daring I add some decent Brandy, particularly if it is too sweet.

Northern Victorian has some great fortified wine but some of its very expensive :'(

'White Port' from Bethany Wines in the Barossa, extremely smooth & goes down very easily! Oh, and chocolate port from Echuca :)

Yummo, I think I need a drink - BBS :)

I've never been a port drinker.

But after reading this thread, I new I had a bottle of port that I won in a raffle somewhere in the house.

After a good hour looking, I found it...

Penfolds Grandfather .

Bloody hell...... I think I'm addicted already ;D
So smooth and easy to drink.
I just checked out the price on Dan Murphy website..... Holy sh!t .... $80 a bottle.
Definitely have to find a nice cheaper variety that I like.

Might even go for an oak keg and try to blend a brew.

I went looking through the local bottle shop after work yesterday for ANOTHER bottle of Port and beside the Port was Muscat. Is it much the same?

I recently picked up a bottle of Sheepyard Flat Port from Grampians Estate. Interesting label, which claims the following, amongst other things:

"...full bodied blend of sheep dags, toe nail clippings and sheep dog's pee, meticulously strained through a jillaroo's undies...eradicates sheep lice, fly strike, nagging mothers in law and Collingwood Supporters...flushes radiators and strips paint...genetically modified and do not pass wind for 24 hours..."

Might be a good one for the next Knockwood GTG.

Port (now called Tawny) Muscat and Tokay are all fortified wines made in the same way.  Flavours differ due to the use of different grapes and wine making techniques.

All are yummy

Muscat and port are similar but different tastes
Try a half a glass of seppeltsfield number 8 muscat around the campfire before bed.
