Jayco Parts problem
« on: June 25, 2012, 08:36:18 PM »
We have purchased a 1982 Jayco Jaydove in reasonable condition
.
The lifting system is a bit sad, well very sad in other words it is stuffed.
I need cables, a pulley or ten, lift rods  plus other bits. :'(

I trundled into the local Jayco dealer here in Mackay and honestly I would have been better off going to a hardware store and trying to buy Sausages.
Checked my boots for Dog Shit after the look I got for disturbing the spare parts bloke  ???
"I have never heard  of a Jaydove he says and we don't keep parts or have a parts book"  >:(
WTF  Customer service is dead

So I need someone who will listen to what I need and maybe just do a little bit to justify their existence on this planet let alone their ability to hold down a position in customer service. :police:

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Kev

Check this post in my Jayco build thread http://myswag.org/forum/index.php?topic=4626.msg357619#msg357619,TheTribe just posted up details of the only supplier I could find who did steel pullys, they do all the cables and lifting gear as well.  I have not bought from them but I believe TheTribe did.

There's no Great Evil conspiracy against consumers within engineering, manufacturing and supply. Just the many tradeoffs incurred to satisfy diverse tastes, priorities and wallets. But first comes all the insatiable Gummint eggsperts, nanny-staters and usual suspects.

Mate I just googled Jaydove and there are a few owners talking about their vans.
Maybe you could ask them for any info on parts.
Good luck :D
