Got an early mark this afternoon and decided to start the drivetrain swap on the two bikes. Put the Trek up first and removed the chain, rear wheel, cut the inner gear cable and took the derailleur and shifter off. Grabbed the wheel and removed the 9 speed cassette as well. Next up was the Aldi bike and repeated what I did to the Trek. Cleaned all the 9 speed stuff up and fitted it to the Aldi bike with a new inner gear cable.
So now the Aldi bike has an 11-36t Shimano cassette, Shimano Altus derailleur and shifter and ProWheel 170mm cranks with a 34t chainring. Just need to do a final adjustment on the derailleur and she's done. If it hasn't got enough gearing for Wifey I can always throw on a 11-40t Sunrace cassette for her.
Hopefully the new cranks and stuff will turn up tomorrow and I can put the Trek back together with the Deore stuff from the Aldi bike.
Cheers, Mike.
