Looking for new Camper
« on: June 20, 2012, 12:32:15 PM »
Last year we brought an Oztrail 6 camper with sunroom 2nd hand and it is a great camper, perfect condition but we have found out that we are having our second child so looking at getting something bigger so that if the weather is bad then the kids will have room to play inside.  Now we are selling it to help pay for the new one.

Our background is we don't get out much -since we got the oztrail we have used it once.  I am not looking at going offroad as I don't have the vehical to do.  We have a small budget and was looking at the ezytrail and the Jag campers (ones sold in Mornington).

Has anyone here got either of these campers or know of any better ones below $5000

Thanks

How does the sunroom work? Is it an extra room off the tent?

I would advise that it is a mistake to buy the biggest tent you can find, just in case the kids want to play, or it is raining. If you're not going offroad, you're probably in a van park, go to the games room, cafe, somewhere else. Take the kids, leave your wife with her book and a hot chocolate.

Bigger tents are just harder to put up and you can spread your clothes over a wider area. My old camper had a 9' tent and an extra room. The 9' tent allowed us plenty of room to have a set of bunks and stuff on the floor. The extra room only went up if we stopped for a week.

No one spends time in their camper. No one. you get dressed in there or you're going to sleep, or putting the kids down for a nap.

The sunroom is just tent material, not canvas with no floor.

I must be missing the parks with games rooms - the kids ages at the moment are 3 are not born yet - due December.
not just looking for the biggest we can but one with more room then we have now so we can fit the cot in as well without it being cramped.

With the jag we have the option of a 15' and 18', floor plan wise I am not sure what the size differences are

So if anyone has the two campers from the first post I would like to know feedback on them
