I was told about this a while ago and again today was asked whether we should invest 30K into putting one into a shopping centre with high power usage and a particularly high peak usage because of lots of kitchens in restaurants and takeaways...................

This is a link to an article I found

http://abccarbon.com/ultra-savings-on-electricity/

and this is the link to the actual product

http://abccarbon.com/ultra-savings-on-electricity/

other than that not much available on the product.

The recommended solar set up for the centre was costed at $500K.

The interesting thing is they are developing these for homes and they will be reportedly be fairly economical to install.

I did ring a couple of so called users. The first wouldn't return calls and the other bought into the company...........

So is this a case of Remington " I loved the company so much I bought it" or am I being sold bulls!t?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers Nomad.

Interesting.

Ocean International is only 100m from my house, I might go for a walk and have a look at the one installed there.

On the surface of it, it looks like snake oil.  Will be interesting to see some real world data.

I read part of a study today that was prepared by a University, but it was only done on a commercial fridge and it showed between 4.9% and 6.3% reduction, but will that translate into a real world saving?

I can get the report and flick it to you if you like Symon.

Most of the "testimonials" are showing around a 15% reduction, I am very sceptical, but without actually knowing anything I don't know what questions to ask, or what answers I should expect to get back.

Yeah, please shoot it to me.  Like I said before Dan from dansdata has been pretty scathing of this product - and Dan has a pretty good reputation as being on the money with things like this, so I'm rather skeptical.

Sounds like he's trying to repackage the power factor improver device.

I call BS on this straight away, especially for domestic.

A quote from the article:
"He has world-wide patents on his “chemical super conductor process” and up until now no-one has been able to duplicate what he has with Ultra."

In other words; unscientific.

Which explains why the New Age Greenies are lapping it up

Gotta love a web page titled 'how to spot a psychopath'...

Dan is a living legend amongst the Australian IT crowd  ;D. The guy has been around for years. Hates scammy psuedo-scientific things with a passion. Also, writes in the most hilarious fashion.

The name of the blog comes from this old, old  blog post:

With regard to the use of lots of testimonials as "evidence" the following quote comes to mind.

The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.
