if you have not see the gall boys dvd then its worth getting.
They have a series and are from the kimberleys to cape yourk and everything inbetween.
The one from the cape was amazing and they took a KEDRON caravan up there.
They crossed the Jardine with it and took it through gunshot.........WTF

Ive seen most of their vids and you can buy them in a set.
I thought they where great and it gave you a great headsup on the region.

They do one of these trips every few years and test out the caravans as part of it.

Really funny in some bits and sometimes a bit white knuckle when they are doing crazy tracks with a caravan.

I have their Cape York DVD. They are certainly not what I would call a professional production.... more like a good quality home movie with commentary. I enjoyed it, but it I probably wouldn't watch it again if that makes sense.

The ultimate adventure documentary about outback Aussie has to be "Northern Safari" made in the 1950's.(Available on Ebay)
A two hour film featuring Keith Adams, his wife, his sister and his dog travel from Perth diagonally across Aussie in a 1948 Buick through the Gibson Desert, Central Aussie to the Gulf of Carpenteria.  Unbelievable exploits: catching sharks on handlines, hunting crocodiles, winching with a winch made from tree branches, and so on.  Some of the scenes are not for the squeamish but very raw and authentic.  Has anyone else seen this film.  He apparently showed it throughout  aussie, NZ, UK, etc. in the 60's and 70's.  I've read his autobiography which is also quite amazing.
Cheers

That camp spot with the water views looks pretty good. Anyone got GPS coordinates so we can write it in the back of our Camps 6 book?

Sorry Bird I should have searched before starting another thread. I must have missed this when you first posted it. Some more suggestions here http://www.myswag.org/index.php?topic=38988.0. Have ordered Northern Safari and will look into some of the other suggestions.

The Northern Safari trailer looked great until the second one came on, and it was just them playing with a dead croc ???

I know culling was allowed back then and it was all very intriguing, but them poking and prodding the croc was hard to take(you know, with me being a girl and all ;)). I'd love to get it, but is most of the movie about croc culling and hunting or is there a fair bit of exploring and adventuring too?

I suppose I can just use the fast forward button ;D

btw that Cave Hill Tsunami video was hilarious!
