Unhappy Customer
« on: June 01, 2012, 07:16:15 PM »
Thought I would put a warning out for a business I have recently been dealing with for my father in law. Now my father in law went and orded nearly $4000
worth of gear from this business, a 2kva generator, wind turbine, fridge, led lighting and a couple of regulators, order was placed on the 14th of March 2012.
About three weeks later some boxes turned up but they were for another cus, a phone call was made and two days later the courier company took them away.
A month later and about 20 phone calls we still hadn't recieved any of the order, after been advised to send a fax as the manager wasn't the wind turbine turned
up, but only 4 of the 5 boxes were delivered. Three of the boxes had water damage, I opened the boxes to find rusted washes and nuts and rust stains all over
the top of the wind turbine. Another couple of phones were made, again the manager wasn't in, after advising the salesperson of the rusted wind turbine he responded
by saying "if it works whats the problem". Now you can probably understand the frustration by now, between my wife and I we have phoned this company nearly everyday with no results, the manager is never in and won't return emails and faxes, for which I have lost count on how many we have sent. We have now asked for a refund which has been going for two weeks now and still no response from anyone. This business has no intensions of helping us out, and I don't want anyone to have to go through we we have endured over the last 3 months. If I get banned from the forum for naming this business I really don't care as I feel my fellow 4wd drivers and campers should know about this company.

SOLAR ENERGY STORE

Do not use these guys, they used to be known as LHP (Luxury home products), they also have an ebay store which has some of the worst feedback I have ever seen!!

I would suggest to get in contact with Fair Trading
You can lodge a complaint HERE
That's if your in NSW, if not, your state will have a similar government body.

Endemic problems with these guys. Just trolling google shows the story.

You'd think that with all the bad press they'd try to fix things up.....

Solar energy store. Luxury home products, LHP... and possibly many more..
Tollis place Seven Hills.
I have dealt with them, i did buy a 120 watt panel from them about 2 years back,,, all was good,, then i noticed 2 or 3 little burn marks on the edge of the cells,,??? strange. but was still working OK..
Took the panel back as i was concerned about the mark,, was told by the young non Aussie sales person that the panel would have to be sent back to the manufacturer....China i said.!!!!!! no with have a Sydney Dist who looks after this i was told.   but your the distributer.!!!............. big Shit fight, told them i wanted it exchanged now,,, cant do he said,,, manager........NOW i said, not here he said...when is he here i asked,,, not sure was the reply.. OK i said I'll get the ball rolling and take it further..... big ??????? on his face.. i walked out,,, before i got the Ute started another guy comes out with a replacement panel.!!!!!
Turned out he was the manager.!!!  Strange............
So if you can get to there door you can solve your problem,, if not, your up Shit creek without a paddle I'm afraid.! Jump up and down as much as you can.!!!

Looks like the same mob we dropped in on about 18 - 24 months ago for a solar system. They were at the Camping and Caravan show at Rosehill.

They had less of an idea than we did.

They were also selling toys etc.

Didn't have what we wanted, offered us an alternative which was not close, and seemed glad to see us leave (just opened by the look of it). Products looked second rate.

Seems we were lucky they didn't have the system we were after.

Sorry to hear about your situation, but you're far from alone.

I feel sorry for the OP and am not having a go here as there are plenty around who have been burnt by not just these guys but plenty of unscrupulous "importers" selling all sorts of gear.  It is the way of the world now that anyone with some money and the internet can import a container load of anything and sell it.

The thing is, we all need to do our research, when some ricer driving fool with no clue puts on the their website (which is fancy because they can use a computer but not a screwdriver) crap like "This panel has the ability to harness up to 120 Amps per day, depending on variables. 120W/12V = 10 Amps per hour and over 12 hours sunlight 10 Amps x 12 hours = 120 Amps" (yes this was cut and pasted from another importers site) why do people believe it?

Oh yeah I just remembered why, because that 4x4 magazine that some treat as gospel also published similar calculations >:(

Personally I won't buy gear from people who do not use it themselves, like I would not take my 4x4 to a motorcycle shop for repairs or go to a carpenter to get a trailer welded up.  Who honestly does not feel a little bit more confidence in the guy behind the counters opinion at the local 4wd shop when his obviously well used and loved 4wd is sitting out the front.

Thanks for this. My sister bought a Fridge off them, and she says it has been working well. She got it through their eBay store and it was delivered to Darwin very quickly.

I was gonna look at one (an 80litre for $599 - i just can't bring myself to spend $1200 on a waeco) as I only ever use 240v as I don't have a 12v setup. But, after reading the comments here, I'll be looking elsewhere.

Cheers
Grant
