Kangaroo Island - Although its cheaper to take the Ferry to Tasmania than it is to take it the whole 40min across to the island

Barossa Valley Wineries - Cant go wrong with the bus tour out there :)

Handorf - Adelaides answer to a German town

Old Adelaide Gaol - Its pretty cool. You can go in to the hanging tower and see how things used to be in a prison. The graffiti is pretty interesting.

Living in Adelaide I have to say most of the genuine attractions are outside the city and in country SA (think Barossa, Fleurieu, KI, Port Lincoln, Murray etc)

I would have said go see Adelaide Oval, but its gone. Soon to be replaced by the Big Toilet Seat.

Go see the Desal Plant if you want. Not used for much.

Don't get me wrong I love ADE, its just not a tourist mecca

As a recent Adelaide Tourist (visiting our daughter) over a week we did:

Botanical Gardens
Museum and also Immigration Museum
Adelaide Zoo (Panda's cost extra Bux, but good)
Light Rail out to Glenelg Beach.
Port Adelaide (Great indoor second hand market on the weekend, not sure which day)
River Cruise at Port Adelaide is Cheap.
Hire a car and head to Birdwood (National Motor Museum) & Handorf (great model railway display).
Wineries nearby - north of Gawler & Kapunda very close.

We had a great time.

Monarto Zoo is about an hour out of Adelaide on the freeway and is well worth a visit.

If you want some free accommodation you are welcome to put up your camper in our back yard - we're 4km's from the CBD.

These are all great ideas.
I'd probably add the Art Gallary and RiAus (http://riaus.org.au/)
I also would consider investigating a cheap hire car even for just 1 day would enable to to go to the Barossa, the National Motor Musium, etc

Burnsey, welcome to Adelaide mate  ;D

We love Adelaide as we visit our daughter who lives there. Markets/Chinatown are brilliant, North Adelaide for posh dining, in addition to things already mentioned. Love Rundle Mall even though it needs a bit of a facelift. Top city!
