Basic tool kit for Jayco?
« on: May 17, 2012, 09:13:08 AM »
So what do you have in your camper tool kit? We don't have one as yet but it's definately someone I wanna get before we go away again. I know I definately need spanners, and shifters. Hammer and screwdrivers. Is there some sort of basic kit I could just buy? Or should I make up a personalized one? What do you keep in your tool kit?

As my vehicle is my work truck I carry enough tools to completely rebuild a camper in there, but my most used kit when travelling is a Metrinch kit I've had for years. It's got spanners from 10mm to 19mm, sockets in 3/8th drive from 10mm to 22mm, 2 screwdrivers and 2 pairs of piers held in a blowmould case. Add in quality 6 and 12 inch shifter (also not my first preference but handy), a small hammer, a 12volt test light and a multimeter and you have most of the basics covered, but it would still only weigh less than 20kg.
