How many poles do you need to set up ya CT?

Lots of people say these imported trailers take lots and lots, mine doesnt....(i think  )

So the set up will be for main tent Plus 1 annexe.

mine uses 8 in the annex and 2 in the tent.

by saying poles do you include spreader poles into this too?

Customline 9 ft camper.  No poles to erect in tent  (uses 3 bow system)
Annex 4 poles, 3 spreader bars

Aussie Swag has 4 for the main awning + 2 for the front awning.

The amount of poles being used is probably a direct reflection on the size of your tent, is it free standing and the type of set up you have in place, for example we set ours up on the weekend in nice conditions so only used the bare essentials but in our case the amount of poles is as follows..........

Main tent 2 upright poles on each fold out side of bed....we keep them on the bed so they are handy to slip into place when the tent folds out.

Awning can use only 8 poles but if you want the thing to stay up in bad conditions there are a heap of ways to make it so solid you could almost add a second story

A total of 14 poles used in this set up..........probably another 10 in the bag if you want that second story, no guy ropes used here.



Also I am not sure if the amount of poles used is a good example of design. Someone may say I only use 2 poles for my whole set up but I spend 1 hour pegging out guy ropes

Our Cub Camper has three automatic bows for the basic setup, but needs a couple of internal prop poles for the rear.

If we add the awning there are 5 vertical poles and 6 spreader poles.

If I'm setting up for anything over two days, or expected inclement weather, I add a tarp over the lot for sun, bird poop, and other muck protection and have an additional 14 poles for that setup.

I use at least 2 ropes per corner and one on each other pole. That's a lot of ropes, pegs and springs to set up!!!

What i mean is "and additional posts NOT bolted to the trailer" including awning roof poles, spreaders.

I too have the 3 bow system however i use poles under the awning roof.

Our Camel (with 10ft tent) needs 4 in the tent (2 uprights and 2 spreaders).  The awning needs 10 (7 up rights and 3 spreaders.)  Can get away with 3 uprights for a 'quickie'.

Pinnacle has 6 internal support poles for the main tent ..
Annexe has 3 uprights , 3 spreaders connected to main roof bows and 2 spreaders between the 3 poles .
There's also 2 emergncy poles with c clips at each end - hurricane proofing poles maybe ??

Two poles in 12 foot tent plus 4 poles and 7 spreaders for the awning

2 x upright and 3 x spreader in the lifestyle extenda - but all with C-clips and pretty easy/quick
4 x upright and between 6 and 9 spreaders for the awning.  Not all so easy in the awning but once up it is rock solid

GIC 12 foor tent, no poles for main tent (2 permenant fixed end Bowes and two loose foot bows that go onto pockets) and no guys required.

Annex has 4 uprights, with 4 spreaders minimum, with an extra 2 uprights if you like. Again, no guys required normally.

inside our Adrenalin you can have as few as 0 extra poles up to 2 full sized poles & 2 mini poles

one annex we can have as little as 8 poles and as many as 12

it takes so little time to set up so we use all 16 poles inside & out, but no need for any guy ropes/pegs etc

For an overnight stop with no awning we don't need any poles on our Modcon Quattro and set up is less than 2 minutes.

If we are staying longer than one night or the weather is crappy we put on the big L shaped awning we use 7 upright poles and 3 spreaders and adds about 10 - 15 minutes to the set up time.

Agreed.  The front awning takes 2 x 1/2 poles (ie not full length ones) or if you are lazy, just two ropes.  Guess it's what you prefer.
