« on: April 26, 2012, 07:16:08 PM »
hey fellow campers. im thinking of running a 60 litre engel & 50 litre waeco in my landcruiser for a capeyork trip on a single 100amp deepcycle battery which is my second battery in the dual battery system which is controlled by a red arc dual battery isolater. does any one know if this will be enough to cope with 2 fridges ?

Will also depend on if your planing on using one as a freezer, if you are then I don't think a single 100ah battery will keep up. Unless your driving a substantial amount each day.

yea, as an example we have a 60 and 50 Dual Zone fridge. In the camper I have 120ampH and in the car 105ampH. We would get two days out of them if stopped and we had solar (but no sun) . I think you'll be pushing it unless you are moving every day and that's no way to see the Cape. Better to take the big fridge and cyrovac rather than freeze. There are enough stops t buy basic supplies on the road

Why will take 2 x fridges ??

just thinking of the space and weight  for the second fridge ( as well as 12v power )

as said, take a dual zone or a fridge
