This may just be a repeat question, but my searching skills (or lack of) can't find an answer.
The battery/batteries in a trailer/caravan get charged via an Anderson plug while the vehicle is running.
When the trailer/caravan is disconnected, is it feasable to check the battery voltage from the Anderson plug on the trailer connection, or is there some magic involved that stops the little electric thingo's from returning back from the batteries?
I have a camper trailer with 2 batteries, and an A'Van with one battery with a battery charger built in.
Would that make any difference between them?

Hi Ian

Very feasable I hope, because I do it all the time via my Solar Regulator, my watt meter and also my multimeter.

I wouldnt think there would be any difference between the camper and the A'Van why do you ask?

Providing the Anderson is connected straight to the battery you'll be able to measure the volts.   If there is nothing running off the cable and no current flowing, then the voltage measured at the Anderson will be identical to that of the battery.   
If there's a DC-DC charger or other regulator it probably won't work.

I tried checking the A'Van, and did not get any reading, but it is fitted with an inbuilt charger. I tried the camper trailer, and again received no reading. I have a two hour job clearing the trailer for battery access to test the batteries and was hoping the Anderson plug would show the charge.
The A'Van was purchased damaged where someone had rear ended it, and as the battery is fitted up under the bed, I was hoping a simple method of testing was possible befor I fitted a more permanent visible meter.
