i just attach 2 jockey wheels one on either side of the draw bar take the weight off one point in direction you want to go place the weight back on and push saves kicking the jockey wheel . You build up a more rewarding thirst when pushing the camper

Seen a remote controlled tracked unit, bout $2600 from memory.  Know they sell it at the Jayco joint in Ballarat.

Me, well there there is the tractor with front home made tow ball adapter and toolbar on 3 point hitch.  Shall I push it into place or lift and drag it.  Ah decisions, decisions

I've been using the 'Ark' ratchet jockey wheel for about a year now. The steering arm is it's best feature. Once you get it rolling using the ratchet, the wheel turns quite easily using the ratchet arm. 10 inch wheel, solid rubber (which I know is not everyone's cup of tea). It's only $138 dollars from Rays Outdoors, or $129.03 for members. The axle frame is very rugged in comparison to the cheap $50 ten inch pneumatic jockey wheels.

I got a approx. $100 one ex Repco  (Mechanic mates Rates )

Ratchet, steering exstention. ( which I have yet to use)

I have a slight uphill to get it out to connect to the tug.

Bit of a pull & ratchet at the same time works without sliding back ( unless some fine grit is on the concrete)

goes back in fine when steering it & using the CT handbrake

edit- needs the occasional clean & dry lube to keep the rachet running smooth

Sand- dirt - etc

Moving back and forward isnt an issue, that part is piss easy.. Its turning right and left without having to break your toes kicking the Shit out of the wheel to make it turn...

Might look into getting a reciever welded to the side of the wheel, slide some pipe into it to assist turning.

I've got the Repco one as well. From memory it was about $75 after the RACV discount.

This is my second ratchet jockey wheel.  My first one cost about $200 but didn't have meaty enough teeth on the cog and I ended up breaking a few teeth and stuffing it.  The Repco one is more robust.

I have a bit of a challenging parking area.  I live in the inner city and park the camper in the back yard off a bluestone back lane. To get the camper in I need to jack knife it to get the bum in, unhitch and then ratchet it into position.  This is slightly up hill and on pretty rough and uneven 120 year old bluestone blocks.

It works a nice sweat up, but does the job better than anything else short of mounting an electric winch in the back yard (which is my long term plan).

I just use our Jeep to move the trailer around. Its got a towbar and everything, so pretty easy really.

years ago, one of the guys we raced with at Willowbank had a barstool with a go-kart engine in it.

He used it to tow a modified dragster around the pits.

One of those, you can use for ya camper, going to the shops and sitting around having a drink. Food for though huh.

Lost ,have you tried a large dia  solid jockey wheel, I too push mine around on the concrete ,and it only take a good push to get it to turn from a standing start,and once it's rolling its not too bad at all
This is on a Kimberly too ,so there is a bit of bar weight upon it
If you want I have a spare , or you could call in at home and give the camper a push to make up your own mind  .give us a pm

The Camper Trolley in Action

I bought one about a year ago and it was sh1te. Apparently changed manufacturers and had problems since.
They were really good to deal with though. Honest, upfront and gave me money back.
I would probably still look at getting one now they have apparently sorted it out, but really don't have the need anymore.

I use a maco-mule. dual wheel ratchet type and it works perfectly.

Yes i have a ride on mower i bought off my fb bss for $50. And another $200 to make it go..
Took the deck off, its a John Deere, it can even tow my car trailer around.. Very handy..

Also have another ride on mower that i made up my own offroad hitch for it, so when i tow its trailer around i have a little more swing and movement..
