mmm - the 70's were a bit of a blur, but I think the firsr concert was
 'Madder Lake' - Toowoomba Uni.

First Album (vinyl)
I think would have been 'Slayed' - Slade.

Still got it somewhere!!!!

First big concert was Bon Jovi on their Slippery When Wet tour in November 86 (supported by Queensryche who went on to make probably the best rock concept album ever - Operation Mindcrime).

For something a little bit different I went on a school trip to the Royal Sheakpeare Company in Stratford Upon Avon the next day to see" the Scottish play".

First album, well 12" single (and I can't believe that I am owning up to this) was 19 by Paul Hardcastle.  This was closely followed by Dire Straits, Dire Straits.  I was trying to find "that great song with the saxaphone" that turned out to be Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty.  Never mind though, Dire Straits would probably be my favourite band, espescially their older stuff.

Ginger Baker,

Got into Ginger a bit later than that one!

Baker Gurvitz Army c1975.  Nothing like a good drum solo thru the headphones at max vol to screw the hearing up later in life ;D

Lucky we're 800plus K apart, we could have some good "plastic sessions".  No one here appreciates my taste in music.  How does kerrie cope when you get out the discs?   Carmel just goes to bed ;D

1. Wickity Whack ... mum and dad loved them ... first band I actually wanted to see ... Barnsey but I was still under age ... so ti was the Hoodoo's.

Kit_e

I saw Wickety Whack first when I was 13 with my Mum and a group of her friends at Redcliffe RSL club from memory.  I loved it, got all of their autographs.  Had them up until a recent move and decided it was time they needed to go.

My first real band that I took myself to was ACDC and the Angles at the Myer Musicbowl in Melbourne in early 1981.  Bought their Back is Black album.  ACDC was never my scene but it was my boyfriends, hence the reason I went and then bought their record.

First album I ever bought was probably a beatles record in the later part of the 70's and then Dr Hook were my first love (for a while at least)

Kerry has similar tastes thankfully, just doesn't like the volume level ;D

For me it was the La De Das who playe at balgowlah boys high at Lunchtime. Most memorable was seeing Skyhooks live at Manly Beach on New Years eve. Mate that was a night to remember. Slightly Delirious ( if you know what i mean) the place just went off!

First album was Deep Purple's Machine Head

Ha ha I like this!

1st Live band -  AC DC Festival Hall Brisbane the last concert of their Back in Black World Tour, my mate and I were right in the thick of it on the floor.
As a note 2nd live band, Dire Straights 1st Aussue tour, same venue, they sounded so good I went out the next week to buy a proper hi-fi as what I had at the time was obviously crap compared to the live sound of that band

1st Album with my own money, actually two same day!  Fleetwood Mac Rumours, still one of the best produced albums ever, and Boz Skags Silk degrees
1998 3.4V6 Prado & homebuilt rear fold soft floor

First concert (not with family) was Jimmy Barnes I think at Shepp show grounds in 1997.  Saw John Farnham when I was young at Rod Laver with family, and John Williamson in Shepp.

I think first album was John Mellencamp on cassette a greatest hits album cant remember what it was called.

Hard to remember exactly, it was either
1. Mondo Rock at the Maroubra Seals supported by Choirboys and Russel Morris or
2. Cold Chisel and ??? Divynils at the Manning River Hotel

First album would have been Rick Wakeman's Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Better break out the old turntable this weekend and give it another spin. Or I will get lazy and have a lok at iTunes

First Band - AC/DC Harristown State High School Hall (Toowoomba) circa 1974  :cup: (it was theoretically an U18 event due to being at the school, but the janitors had to run around early the next day picking up stubbies & condoms everywhere >:D
First Album - Skyhooks - Living in The 70's

It was a golden era of concerts at Harristown, we only lived about 200mtr up the road so got to see and/or hear all of them
including
ACDC
Skyhooks
Shertbet
TMG
HUSH
Plus a few others that dementia has taken from me ;D
