1. I can't stand being in a crowd so I actually never went to a live rock concert until 2007. It was to see Third Day at Hillsong.

2. Escape by Journey.

I was lucky enough to have a brother that took me to see george thorogood open the newcastle entertainment centre. I think it was about 1990 ish, not exactly sure. I was 15 maybe. . . . . First album i bought was DV8 back to basics. Another band i can thank my brother for getting me into. There still playing around newcastle pubs today, a great pub rock band thats stood the test of time.

I cannot remember what year it was, but it was at the Apollo Stadium in Adelaide when I was viusiting my grandparents, and the band was the Jackson Five.  Michael Jackson was about 5 or 6 years old.  Never been to a concert since.
The first album I bought with my own money was Tea for the Tellerman by Cat Stevens.

First live gig was either The Stranglers at the palais in St Kilda, very scary for a group of three 15 year olds as everyone else was 25+ punks.

Or Hunters & Collectors at The Venue in St Kilda when they recorded The Way To Go Out

First album I bought was The Clash - Combat Rock. First album I was given was Kiss -Dynasty

1. what was the first live band everyone went to see?

Mainly by accident - Judy Jaques and the Yarra Yarra Jazz band in Broadmeadows Town Hall.

2. what was the first album you brought with you own money?

No idea why I purchased "Thunder N Lightning" by Hoyt Axton.  It was cheap?  Awful music....

But Sunbury '72, '73, '74 and Mulwhalla festivals live on......

First "big" concert was Led Zeppelin in Perth. Remember Ross Wilson belting out Eagle Rock as the warm up.

First Album was Zappa 'Live at Filmore'
Must have enjoyed it as now have 108 of his CD's.

1. Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow at the Horden Pavilion in about 77/78.

2. Solid Gold Hits -  featuring 'saw a man named Armstrong walk upon the moon', and Minnie Ripperton's 'Loving you'. Which must make it 1975.   Aargh , now that is stuck in my head!!! >:D

Redeemed myself with my next purchase - Alice Cooper, Welcome to my Nightmare.

Just to make all you Heep fans jealous, I saw them again last April at Enmore Theatre.  They are still a great band to watch.

1. Deep Purple - Horden Pavillion 1971 ish - Was only a little tacker then but my ears were still buzzing 2 days later.

2. Machine Head - Deep Purple

There seems to be a theme here.

Sold off most of my LP collection & have spent the last 10 years scouring the cheap bins at record shops for CD's of my old albums...got most of them with "Return to Fantasy" being the most recent.

1.  Joe Brown and the Bruvvers at the Granada, Maidstone in 1963

2.  My elder brother was a music journalist so I never had to buy my own albums!  But "Days of Future Passed" by the Moody Blues would have been fairly early.

I was a late starter to my first concert but it was Pearl Jam at the burswoord dome in 2003 and I was 22 at the time

I'm not 100% sure what my first album was but I think it was soundgarden -  bad motor finger

I think for the younger ones that second question will need to be changed from, "the first album you brought with your own money" to "the first album you illegally downloaded when you where paying for the internet connection" ;D
