Picking up new CT from Sydney
« on: March 22, 2012, 08:31:25 PM »
Hi All,
Just new to My Swag, have been camping all our lives just about grey nomad status. Had tents, camper vans, caravans e.c.t hired a Johno,s a year ago and did a trip to the Flinders, liked the CT easier to tow, store and quick to put up.
Have been looking around since, went to a camping show last month when it was pis##ing down rain, the Great Aussie Camper was one of a few that did,nt leak, so ordered one and can,t wait to pick it up in a couple of weeks, Shane & Claus have been terrific !!!!!!.
We have a 2007 Hilux 3.0 Lt to tow it back with, let you all know how it towed back.

G'day Carry on Camping,

To MySwag.
A beautiful part of the country the Flinders, we spent a fortnight there last year before the national meet at Wilmington.
We want to go back again, only saw a fraction of it.
Hope you enjoy the site.
Happy & Safe travels.

Thanks for the welcome guys, forgot to mention I researched my swag before we made our final decision, found the site very informative, I am sure to have a few more questions for you after we take delievery.

We ordered the Dharug off road only the two of us now, has the bed facing the right direction, at my age you have to get out of bed a couple off times a night ( you know what I mean ). Took up the show special, has upgraded s/s kitchen, 100 ah battery with 300 W Inverter and extra annex wall.

They also through in a annex floor, rang them up 3 weeks after order and upgraded the the trailer to heavy off road, thought you only get one crack at this and got the 100 x 50 x 3mm draw bar 2.0 long, 50 x 50 x 3mm chassis & 7 eye to eye leaf springs.
The bride was sold on the LED reading lights and storage units behind the bed head and the drifter pull out kitchen, I was impressed with the solid build and the 15 oz canvas and heaps of storage space. the hardest decision for the wife was what colour to get ( so what else is new !!!!! )
Might take a detour of the Hume on the way home south and find some bush to camp over a couple of nights any ideas where ?????

Thanks again for the welcome, will get some picks on the way back.     ;D
