Kulkyne Kampers Swags
« on: March 02, 2012, 11:31:31 AM »
Although I've been sleeping in swags for much of my life, I found at Xmas time that I started to suffer from caustrophobia inside my current swag. I've had it for 5 or 6 years, used it enough times that I was surprised how freaked out I became once I'd zipped the swag up completely. Damn the rain!

Replacing our camper is also taking longer than I'd hoped so I thought I'd have a look for a bigger swag. I found a deal from Kulkyne Kampers, a reverse auction for their Kulkyne-Double-Dome-Swag.

I managed to pick it up for a significant saving, and it was delivered in two days.

Thinking that I should season it, and that it would be a shame to waste what nature seems intent of offering us at the moment I have set it up out the front of my office. It is easy to set up, nice aluminium poles and heaps of room. No worries about claustrophobia in this baby  ;D.

It's long, nice bag with a quality zip. Comes with 4 ropes, six small steel pegs and a nice little canvas peg bag. I would have really appreciated another bag for the three aluminium poles.

Set it up out fo the rain initially, has these terrific boot bags on both sides, with zips.

Nice and tall

It will be well and truly seasoned by this afternoon

I might need to use it this weekend if my wife sees this post  ;D

A few of us could be in the money here. What's it worth not to tell Mrs Bigjules.   ;D  ;D ;D

Looks good, the extra space would be nice.

I love my swag, for the sheer simplicity.  It has no poles or anything.  However, if claustrophobia is an issue, would you be better off with a hiking tent, sleeping bag and self inflatable mattress ?  Probably quicker to set up, and at least you can sit in it.  I used this combo when hiking, and it would easily fit in a backpack that's much smaller than the swag?  Just asking...

Steve, I sell post hole diggers for a living and work next to a cement factory ;D

Geez Marc, don't feel bad. You can fix me up for the extra dollars you cost me next time. Actually, I reckon you could have one for the same price if you approached the bloke. PM me for details. It's worth the money.
