Found Photo Card - Port Fairly
« on: February 26, 2012, 09:41:44 PM »
All, my son found a packet of 2 SD photo cards at the weekend at Port Fairy.  Before I post them to the police station, has anyone here lost them?

If no one here claims them, stick them in your computer and look for a text file, most serious photographers will add something on their cards with their name and contact details.

Just be mindful of what you "Might" see.

Hi Paul,

Not sure the Police will be able to do much with them except put them to good use  ;D

Who would report a couple of lost memory cards? Goodness, they would be written off.

Probably do as Rope suggests, and if there is no indication as to the owner etc, ...

Ed: if you are keen, there are programmes that can 'reclaim' deleted files. You may find more info on the owner.

I read an article about this recently where the finder posted a picture of the owner on facebook and people went into a frenzy trying to track the person down until they eventually found her. The power of social networking or 6 degrees of separation, you decide...

Top Idea Ropes ... I'm off to do that now ... You are not just an interesting user name are you!!

Estelle ... if they were mine ... I'd want them back.  Memories are so hard to replace.

Pauljygrant ... see if you can find photo's of a vehicle they were travelling in ... the police might help you track them down that way.  MySwaggers always take photo's of their vehicles and campers and applicable rego details.

D4D ... same happened with a card filled with wedding photo's in Ipswich recently.  I believe they tracked down the bride and groom through FB (got lots of ideas on how to find them) AND with the co-operation of the local newspaper, who did a front page article for them (I'm told).
