Dad shoots daughters Laptop

My girls are only young, but they are being brought up to respect their elders and they cant have everything they want, unless they are prepared to work for it.

My wife and I just watched this together, and have decided to save the link and show our 12 year old tomorrow ...
We have the same values, and expect them to as well. This country was built ofn hard working men and women, not layabouts who "expected" an allowance ....

I started getting an allowance when I was around 12 but I needed to
Make my bed everyday
Keep my room clean
Clean the pool
And every Thursday help mum clean the whole house BTW my mum has OCD when it comes to a clean house so it was like a spring clean every week hahaha

If I decided on not doing it I didn't get my allowance, in my eyes it tought me how to work for my money, if I didn't do my jobs I didn't get paid

From when I turned 15 I've held a job only being without work for 6months when I was doing My HSC
At one stage working 2 jobs

I'm 25 so I'm in that age group that expect everything for nothing. I'm constantly getting people at work on unemployment that are in the late 20s and early 30s that I bet haven't worked a day in there life

IMO it starts at home I recon this bloke is a champion yes it was harsh but I will do the same if my son ever did that to me

Dad seems such a nice, caring fella what on earth could have made his daughter rebel against him.

Sounds like a carnival ride of a place to live.   ???

Didn't finish watching this. Was there a response from his daughter?

Bit hard to make a judgement without her response. How accurate were his comments?

Did she create the message knowing her father would find it?
15 year old, don't we remember what it was like? Troubled years. Interesting times.

IMO It's not what these kids are taught at home, but what  they are taught outside the home.

Regardless, if she posted what he read out, good on him. The problem with kids these days is they don't get enough discipline, they just push the boundaries and the do-gooders let them.

I have two daughters and am not looking forward to the teenage years. I don't think any of my lessons will require a gun though LOL.

Regards

Jas

Estelle, that was the fathers response to the initial posting by the daughter.  I do believe she doesn't have a computer to respond on now.
Its interesting reading the responses.

I agree 100% with your thoughts Estelle.

Though I would probably suggest he is a worthless gutless bullying hillbilly POS.

What possible outcome could this have for the relationship other than the 15yo falling pregnant to billy bob the first bloke to show her some affection.  Course she had no right to post what she did but shes 15 years old, the hormones are going off, seems like theres a new mum on the scene (unless I read it wrong) and things aint going real well.

A smart father, not a bully, would have read the post, kicked the hell out of some inanimate object, calmed down and said to the new mum "Mildred, I think we have a problem here".  And then acted like an adult, not a 2 yo.  Work out what the issue(s) are and deal with them positively without the daughter ever knowing they knew.

A father is always the most important male, or at least the most important influence,  in their lives.

Sad story really.

Hi Frostd,

I'm a tad concerned for the daughter. Dad in a fit of rage shoots a computer. Well not quite.

Dad discusses with Mum. Dad sets up a video then spends about 7minutes Talking about it, then puts holes in the computer. Cool calm collected. I think he is a bit loose in the head, with a hand gun.  >:(

He is in IT and had to spend $130(?) on software to fix her computer. Good grief, what was wrong with it that needed software that cost that much? Was it a piece of rubbish when they gave it to her?

Some 15 year olds are a handful. Hormones, peer influence by those who have been treated badly (their interpretation) by their parents.  I'm glad we are passed that stage.

I do understand when people feel the way they do though. Can be real hard at times and you can relate to the parents, but, shoot the PC after a long deliberation? Good lesson for the daughter???

Nuts!

Cheers,
John.

Ed: he probably also invaded her privacy. How did he find out about her message?

Hi Dazzler,

Good point about finding comfort from others at that age. Not looking good for her at all.

Just hope it works out.

I believe the fuunny thing here, its AMERICA, not Australia.  If it was Australia, it would be a .243.  I am not defending the guy, but, it was a laugh.
Some young people I deal with on a daily basis believe they have earnt the right to have anything they want, when ever they want, without having earnt such a right.  Yes the hormones are running every where at 15, but, is that an excuse to have bad manners, not doing chores at home or treating people badly. NO.  These days we seem to make excuses for kids, because of their age.  What happened to minding your P's & Q's. Kids need to have respect for people in general.  I now step down off the soap box and await any comment.
