G'day & Welcome.

I was just thinking "gee, we have a lot of members in WA, but with over 10,000 members on here now, we've got a lot of members everywhere.  ;D

Would like to be heading to Ningaloo myself. Have to content myself with Portaloo  ;D

Thanks we are spoilt here for places to go and stay. We tend to stay on sites with facilities but so far have been lucky as they are never busy if you avoid school holidays. One of our favorites is Dwellingup we stayed there recently and had the whole place to ourselves. there is a fire ban at the moment but it is excellent all year round. Whilst there we drove the Nanga Track which is 105 kms its a 4WD track tricky in places have to have ground clearance and 4WD but didn't see anyone else. In parts runs alongside Murray river where you can swim and camp. Can supply more details if anyone wants to visit. We are off to Yallingup in 10 days camping on the beach will take computer and add pictures etc Yallingup good for surfing fishing Boats etc Thanks again.

welcome Dapper,

I remember when Beacher Point (Port Kennedy) was a great place to go beach camping so long as you didn't dig too a deep a hole for fear of hitting unexploded ordinence- back then Rockingham/Warnbro ended @ holcombe road more or less - geez i miss those days

That was my old stomping ground. My dad bought four blocks of land for 130 pounds (for the lot) on a little side street at the end of Warnbro Beach Rd. that was when he was 23 and he is now 78. Built a shack on one and over the years sold the other blocks.  Now spends his summers and weekends there. Behind us was Fendam Street and then just dirt tracks to Long Point.  I don't remember Holcombe Rd - whereabouts was that?  Many happy days spent exploring the dunes, tracks (in an LJ50 with no roof) and fishing and swimming.
And then Warnbro, Port K, and Secret Harbour were built and it all came to an end. Can't drive on the beach at Long Point any more ????

Great to see another "new local" on here though. Welcome Dappers.
