Just another introduction
« on: February 01, 2012, 08:43:58 AM »
Hi all want to introduce ourselves im Shane my fiancee is Sarah and we have a 4 year old daughter Ayesha, i stumbled across this great site whilst looking for info on CTs since then i have nearly had a divorce before i got married and been in trouble for neglecting our daugher all because of spending so much time on here looking at the forum, it is so useful with so much info on here about this great lifestyle we all love.
The main reason i have spent so much time on here is we are planning to get married in may then take off in our CT on a working holiday around OZ living out of it. I have looked at all the cheap new ones which look great but am a bit wary after reading different articles on here.
We have a budget of $10 000, we want an offroad model with watertank , kitchen, large tent preferably with an enclosed annex and a kids room, and a power pack. I am willing to setup power etc myself but would be taking any mods off the original budget.
Need some advice on all this as we dont know whether to buy cheap new or secondhand any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are living in QLD until the wedding then wanting to pickup the camper in NSW in may, but can have it stored for as long as we need before then.

;D Welcome there Shane and Co....... fancy that spending too much time on Myswag..... never....

Good luck with the CT search, you shouldget a reasonable 2nd hand one, (sometimes with extra goodies), for the money or less.  Your 4 yo will love getting out, especially if there are others around.  We have found that our supposedly shy, now 7yo, boy has never had any real trouble making friends.  SWMBO's I have found, generally like the odd creature comforts...

Good luck and best wishes for the wedding and extended honeymoon..
  Paul

Welcome to MySwag Shane & Sarah and congrats on your forthcoming wedding.
What an awesome idea for a honeymoon.  I'm green with envy.  haha

Good luck with looking for a ct.  Definitely keep an eye out for secondhand.  There are some great deals out there at times for really good quality campers - and usually with heaps of extras.

All the best,
Cheers
Sharyn  :D

Hi Shane, welcome to My Swag.
As others have said, with your budget keep an eye on the 2nd hand market. Can get some very good deals.

Hi Shane Welcome to My Swag, contact some of the camper trailer businesses and see if they have any end of year sales, you might pick something up there.

All the best with your trip.

G'day & Welcome.

Sign your wife up as well, make her feel like part of the MySwag family too, and get yourselves to a MySwag gathering, even if you don't have a camper yet, then she'll understand why you spend so much time on here.
