What have you got planned for Australia Day?
« on: January 15, 2012, 05:24:45 PM »
What are your plans to celebrate Australia Day?

Our plan is to head up Double Island for the week. It will be the first time our 2yr daughter has ever camped at the beach  :cup:

I'm going to blow up my Australia Day Pool (it's 300mm deep and about 500mm in diameter) and sit in it with a drink (hopefully alcoholic) and read a good CT Mag ... BBQ something on a BBQ ... or at least wish I was ... the prediction for Thursday is storms *Sigh*

I am taking my boat down to Strahan for another go at the World Record Ski attempt for the most skiers behind one boat.

http://www.skirecord.com/

I will be a support boat & the "Ski" boat will be The Eagle from World Heritage Cruises that usually does the Gordon River trip.

We are going for 150 people but as long as we get more than 114 we will increase our own record.

2 club trip choices...

Otways with DDR, but evertytime he goes there it rains...

Or an area I havent been to before...  taking a look at Davies Plain Hut, then continue onto Tom Groggin and then taking a trip to Cowombat Flat, to the start of the Murray River. If time permits, we could also take a trip up to Mt Pinnibar

decisions :)

Definitely getting away camping now that everything on the camper is tickety-boo.  Either south coast around Walpole or Up the coast around Jurien.  As long as it's good weather, sunny for swimming and fishing, a few coldies and lots of relaxing in the great Australian way by the beach.

Hope you all get out there and get amongst it  ;D

Heading to Halls Gap for 4 days. Its the first trip with the new camper (see http://myswag.org/forum/index.php?topic=19198.0 for a bit of shameless self promotion!!!) Was supposed to go same time last year but that was when the floods hit Halls Gap and closed almost all of the NP. I hear most of it has opened up again, so can't wait!! Few beers around the fire while the roast lamb sizzles away in the baby Q....geez we do it tough!!!!
