Good campsites in the border ranges
« on: January 02, 2012, 09:43:55 PM »
Hi all
Can anyone recommend a good campsite in the qld/nsw border ranges. I am looking for something with clean long drop toilets for the girls and with camp fires permitted. We will be taking a camper trailer or two and setting up for a week or so. I would love something with a creek flowing through. Does anyone know of a campsite that may fit the bill?

Thanks Beach Fisher ... glad you have found it to your liking ... and (more importantly) useful.  ;D  Let us know where you end up by giving us a trip report.

Wow great blog!
Cheers

Thanks Jeeps!   ;D

I really appreciate the feedback from you both.

When we bought our CT, I set about finding places we could bush camp with our dogs and found the going hard alas.  After some intensive reasearch I now think I've got a list of everything "Bush" wise for camping with our pups in our local area (2 - 3 hours or so from BrisVegas) plus quite a few where we can't take them.  Still have lots to blog though ... when ever we get to them ... and of course there are all the Beach sites we haven't even started to explore yet.

I'm kind of hoping it might make a great weekend warrior's / visitors book for those who don't like to go the busy caravan park route.

Hi, My son and I just spent a few days at Copeton Dam just near Inverell. It was just before the end of school for NSW and we were the only campers there. Clean amenity and electric BBQ that actually worked. The serenity was only broken by the roos and birds around our site. A magic site and a great few days.
