Camps Australia Wide 7
« on: December 07, 2011, 07:59:46 AM »
Fired off an email to Camps Australia Wide the other day, as I am in the market to purchase the Camps Australia Wide 6.  I wanted to know when Camps 7 is scheduled to come out and to my surprise the reply was

"We produce a new edition every 2 years, Camps 7th edition will be released in March 2012
Our online ‘Update Service’ is free to Camps 6 users until Dec 2014 so you can update the current edition with any changes we find while travelling/researching. "

Looks like i wil be waiting until March 2012.  Not sure of what updates/new ideas will be in the new edition.

Good info. We absolutely love our Camps 6 book and it was essential reading on our recent around Oz adventure.

Just a question on these free updates though. Has anyone used the service and how would you apply it?

Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

Wasn't the Camp 6 published Feb 2011, so that would be early 2013 for camps 7?? I was looking at buying the Camps 6 but may hold off now if they will release a new one in early 2012.
To know the road ahead, ask those coming back.

We have number 6 and used it when we went to Lake Eyre.
Pretty good book.
This reminds me that I have to check the updates.

Yep, just checked the publication date in mine and it's definitely Feb 2011. I held of buying Camps 5 to wait for Camps 6 and it only seems like yesterday!

Great that they update them regularly I suppose.

Wayne,

When we had camps 3, I jumped on their site to check the updates and there were a few so all I did was to print (copy and paste) them off and then just grab the camps book and a pen and nikko and cross out any or change the info required ie phone numbers etc. But we have now purchased camps 6 and so that will get updated for the next few years until they bring out camps 10!! (we still have camps3 though)
