Is this thing any good?
« on: November 25, 2011, 08:59:16 PM »
Does anyone on here have experience with these units? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/7x5ft-Off-Road-Hard-Floor-Camper-Trailer-wit-15x13ft-Tent-caravan-4X4-4WD-CTHH01-/160688711924?pt=AU_Caravans_RVs&hash=item2569cb28f4

Seems to be a lot of these for sale from a lot of companies that claim they are Australian. From what I have learned they are a Chinese Import but in bits and assembled locally. That doesnt mean they are bad thus asking what experience people have had with these things

It would be easy to say:  "here we go again", but -

There are many threads on myswag outlining virtues of these and tru blue aussie built CT;s.

Do a search on Mars, pinnacle, eazytrail, chinese, etc, on the search facility.

Yes, they seem/are value for money.
Yes, you can buy a second hand unit for a similar price.

All gets down to what you can afford, and what you want to do with it (do you want to get out and use in normal conditions, or do you want to do the Canning stock route)

Check out all the threads, go and look at the unit (and others both locally made or locally assembled), and check out the answere to your thread.

FWIW, we have an Ezytrail, who offer a similar unit.

We would love to have been able to afford a Trackabout, or Mountain Trail, but $$$ did not permit.

The main thing is to get something you are comfortable with and go and have fun!!!

I have been looking at those CT's, they dont look to bad, but keep in mind, it dont matter what you buy, or where from, you will always do mods and or repairs,,  IMHO no CT is perfect, we can find fault with all of them..

But as "Apollo" stated.....

The main thing is to get something you are comfortable with and go and have fun!!!
