Congrats Baz,
We took an Amarok for a test last week. Very nice build quality and ride. I did feel that the torque band is very narrow and if you are not watching it was easy to get caught out in the wrong gear with no go. But when it was on song it was reasonably quick. Overall I did like the Amarok except the price and some basic inclusions that should be standard but cost extra. Like $900 for bluetooth.
Anyway looking forward to the buildup and hope you get it dirty soon.
Yes I did notice that myself, Nessie is coming from a Toyota Camry and they have a similar torque/power band, so she shouldn't really notice it too much, the other thing I noticed was off the mark they were a tad dull, but I guess something that she will get used too.
Overall they are pretty good and the Ltd Edition package had everything she wanted and is cheaper that going for a standard Trendline, which I found odd, she opted for the iPod connection over the Bluetooth which was $600 extra.
I'm pretty sure Nessie will be happy, she will be tagging along with us to the High Country at Christmas, it should have a Bullbar, winch and UHF by then and maybe a snorkle hopefully.
OK, so yesterday we took everything off the Disco, we left the roof racks, bullbar, winch, dual battery system and Aux battery, antenna and UHF in the car.
This morning coming to work, not a bloody sound from the car, no rattles at all, pretty darn good considering it's age and nearly 300,000ks.
Baz.
