Protect Our Injured Police
« on: November 15, 2011, 07:43:13 AM »
OK I got this from AULRO, this is what I believe a must and a right to help physically and psychologically injured Police officers that put there life on the line every day to keep our communities safe.

That's why it's so important we have an effective Death & Disability Scheme to support them if they are seriously injured in the line of duty.
Click on the links below
http://www.keepourcops.org.au/documents/fact_sheet_about_d&d.pdf

But now the NSW Government wants to attack our Death & Disability Scheme and make substantial changes that will slash the protections available to officers who can no longer work due to the injuries they sustain protecting our community.

Under the Government's proposed scheme, the longer it takes you to recover from your injuries, the worse off you will be financially. It will only cause seriously injured officers more harm and stress.

You can tell the NSW Government what you think of their changes to our Death & Disability Scheme by sending them an email. Just fill out the form below and click send.

Your email will be sent to all NSW State Coalition MPs.

Act Now! Send a message to the NSW Government.

HEy Redback,

I am happy to do this, but should I put in a NSW postcode, or will they count it even if it comes from QLD?

Cheers mate

I don't it should matter, but I guess maybe you should just in case, if they succeeds here, who knows what the other states will do, they often look at other states for ideas >:D

Use mine if you like, 2508.

Done   2997.
I am a recently retired Qld Police Officer and believe me sometimes it feels like certain State Governments (or certain political parties) hate Police Officers. I know they do not, but it just seems like it.
I retired at the age of 55, last shift was about 11 months ago, and I have absolutely no regret. After 30 years in the job I had had enough. Give me travelling about in a camper any day. It is the best life!  ;D  Kevin

I did it, but forgot the number
I work around insurance and coppers are about uninsurable for disability so the only protection they can get is whatever's available through their state scheme. They deserve much better.
Perhaps it might be more effective to establish a super & Insurance scheme for all Aussie coppers under a commonwealth banner to join with the AFP and take it off the states.

Done. Did not record number though.

The government are dogs, who else is going to cover the Police?  I have mates in the force who hav serious concerns over this. How about cutting the pollies expenses if they are keen on saving the $?

What a poorly written press release.

I am still confused as to the changes and the AFP one seems a little strange.

My partner was medically retired a few years ago and is on 75% of her original yearly salary until retirement age.  All medical bills paid for.

No lump sum which is a good thing.

They really needed some simple dot points for some of us dummer people  ;D
