Question For Those Around Melbourne
« on: November 10, 2011, 07:47:33 PM »
Next year I have to travel to Melbourne a few times for Uni residential workshops.

Any advise on good cheap accommodation near the Caufield Campus of Monash Uni?

Thanks in advance.

NK

I'll set my tambo up in the driveway, I live 800mtrs from there.  Deal is tho' I spend at least 8 weeks a year in Newcastle, wiill you reciprocate!  (also I will need access to your beer fridge).

PM me with your timings and I will have a look around for you.  The Caulfield campus is on two major rail lines (across the road from the station) so there is a whole world of opportunities, in many and varied price ranges, open to you.

Regards

Mark

As Mark mentions you're right at Caulfield station, personally I would look closer to the city Malvern, Toorak, Sth Yarra. That way you have some eating places too. If you go the other way towards Oakleigh they'll be cheaper but then you're in the middle of nowhere.

You're on the Frankston or Pakenham line.

Ok thanks for that I will have a look around those areas.  At this stage the week I am most concerned about is in September, I have not got the dates yet but have been told the second half of September so hoping its not in GF week.

Hi NK, There is a motel about 2 klm down the road just after Koonang Rd in Carnegie and there is also one opposite Grange Rd from memory.

Just googled them for you:

http://www.evancourt.com.au/

This one is in the area as a B&B that I found whilst googling the above 2. Not as easy to access at the others though and a bit of a walk.

Hope that helps

Cheers

Just give me a yell when you have your details locked in.  Within 2klms of Caulfield campus you have approx 6 pubs, 50-60 resturants + numerous take aways, and if you're a good boy you might even get a beer at my place.  If you want to stay in Melbourne central you are only a 15min train trip away.  Don't panic about accommodation (even on Grand final week) you don't need to worry in a place the size of Melbourne.
