Modcon at Veronica St Capalaba, innovative new forward fold design, great to deal with.
Good luck :D

We are very happy with our Customline,I can put it up myself, and not much more time for the annex. We have been living in it for 6 months while travelling and working around AUS. But can't seem to get out of QLD!

I'm with hseq - if you are heading down to Brisbane, detour into Caloundra and visit Australian Offroad Campers.  Even if the Odyssey is outside your price range you will at least see what a well designed and built camper can look like and what sort of features are available.  We've had ours for 4 years now and haven't seen anything we'd swap it in for (except perhaps an AORC Quantum!).

Do yourself a favour.

Less than 10 mins from the Bruce Highway (Motorway) as you whistle southbound.

As for backup, we've not had much go wrong with our AORC Supa Camper but the after sales service has been second to none!

And we've got the Quantum!   :cup:

Alternatively, just go straight to Trackabout and sign up for one there, then head to the pub for a beer with JT.  ;D ;D

Yep that's the idea for sure! Bribes work too I left him a couple of kgs of tasty Yamba king prawns to keep him on track.

gday Frogman,

We checked out those on your short list plus a few others. All looked good, all have pros and cons. Its supprising what can make a difference when you see them set up in the flesh. One of them had far too  many poles in the annex for example.canvas colours...
Walk into the show room/factory with everyone elses brochure in your hand >:D.

Make a comprehensive checklist of what you want,I bluntly asked each one why I should buy their camper and not the others. What suits others may not suit you.
And my best tip....Dont make a decision on the day, compare when you get home without any distractions. Its easy to get caught up in a sales pitch...
P
I dont mind going to work, its the 8 hours  i have to wait to go home again that annoys me.

Camel bushman....

When you look Frogman be aware that if they are setup inside it is likely that more poles will be used for the annex than necessary in a normal camping situation. I can use extra poles on my annex so that no ropes are required and the canvas sits super-trim, this is how they would be setup in the showroom. Normally I use only a few poles and a few ropes, and my second pole holder tube doesn't get opened.

It is definately horses for courses.....

We use all our poles and spreader bars on our annexe/awning (cause I am a bit of a perfectionist - my poor hubby  :-*) and it only takes us about 30 mins to get it all done & dusted (the lot..tent, annexe & walls)....so we always use both pole holders.

When are you off on your little adventure Frogman????

Looking forward to your take on all the separate companies and your findings?

I usually put up the CT by myself while my wife looks after the kids (10 months and 2 years) which is why I opt for less poles. I look forward to when they can all help me. I have been informed however that when i set up for a week at Xmas time I will be using all the poles.

You're kdding me aren't ya?
Trust me, unless you're fond of cursing your loved ones, there's only one way to do things right... by yourself.
Plus the magic 'disappearing tent pegs' trick get's a bit old each trip. (I now use wittled down tree branches).
I'm not so good with advice... can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

Hahaha....have to agree with you LJ's GQ..  :cup:

We have two teenage girls who we now banned from "helping" and have to sit on the esky while hubby and I set up...

That way nobody gets titchy and things get sorted a hell of a lot quicker with no arguements,no moaning or filthy looks at each other (the girls that is) and we get handed a beer when needed.....
