Toowoomba caravan park recommendation needed
« on: October 28, 2011, 11:54:20 AM »
Hi all,

We will be stopping in Toowoomba for a few days around new year and am looking to book into a caravan park with the camper trailer. Have done some searches of the forum with no results. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Cheers in advance

X2,
Hi earle,
Stayed there a couple of years ago for three nights, Clean & tidy park. There is a little cnr shopping plaza just down the road(within walking distance, about a block away) and not to far from most things in town. No Hwy traffic noise either.
At the time you had to leave your Van/Camper out on the front road to book in, I don't know if this is still the case.
Cheers

Crows Nest National Park. Good sites & amenities. Just down the road from Toowoomba.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Murphy's Creek looks great and I had thought about Crows Nest but we're really just looking for accomodation in Toowoomba rather than a camping holiday for these few days.

Just as a follow up to this I would highly recommend the Big 4 in Eiser St Toowoomba for somewhere right in Toowoomba. Staff were friendly and helpful, amenities were of a high standard, grounds and gardens were well kept etc etc. Made the caravan park we stayed at in Bongaree look like a hovel.

Another vote for the Big4 park in Toowoomba - we had a lovely visit there a couple of years back.

Forgot to mention that this park is basically in the middle of a suburb well away from main roads = no highway/main road noise = nice and quiet.

Have they still got the the little community herb & vegie garden near the pool.
A great Idea, we thought.
Glad you enjoyed your stay.

Yes the herb & vegie garden is still there, right near the BBQ's so you can grab some fresh herbs as you cook if you like. Also tomatos (not quite ripe), silverbeet etc
