Lost Super/Money
« on: October 25, 2011, 12:02:03 PM »
Saw this in todays paper
http://www.moneysmart.gov.au/tools-and-resources/find-unclaimed-money
so thought I'd give it a go...

The first one - https://www.edge.asic.gov.au/unclaimed/simplequery.html
:(

The second one - http://www.ato.gov.au/super/content.aspx?doc=/content/33301.htm
$22,000 in inactive/lost super..
SO I called the company and it is strange as they cant tell me where it was from... their computer only shows them the last 12 months...

Give it a go!

Good on you Lost for bringing this up!
There's gazillions in lost super out there so if you think you have any lost super go for it because this is your retirement money.
Let me tell you the govt has it's eye on it to cover it's defecit on it so get to it before they do!

also try ausfund, they are a major resting spot for lost super send from other funds that have lost contact with members, very easy to check

http://unclaimedsuper.com.au/index.html

another tip, if you are rolling from one super fund to another, use the rollover form from the one you are rolling from rather than the new fund.
I find that these funds are happier to process their own forms as opposed to someone elses, in addition not all funds have the same ID conditions so be aware of that.

I have to say this next bit because I work for an AFSL licence holder.
*Before rolling super it's important to seek qualified financial advice
*Be aware that if you roll out of a super fund you may cancel any insurance you currently hold within the fund

Hi,
checked it years ago and found $30 from some dividends that were change from a shares reinvestment that got taken over.
The paper work and running around seemed too much effort for the amount of cash.
cheers

You might also want to check out your state revenue office as well for unclaimed monies. For example, here is the NSW website:

So before this happens, check it out!

With the nation's lost super accounts holding about $17 billion, the change will deliver to the budget $675 million in savings over the next four years
