Do you have to work at places like dr. Creek?

Assume that area gets pretty busy at that Time of year.

We are thinking of alpine national park..... Hoping the crowds will be a little thinner there than along the coast. May do a reconnaissance trip up that way prior to silly season.

  • Live for today, you may not be here tomorrow.
We have the last couple of weeks of school holidays off and are probably going to head to Sydney along the Coast and then shoot back down the Hume Hwy.

Hoping to score a few free camps along the way, don't like my luck being school holidays and then Australia Day weekend.

Anyone have any knowledge of free camps along the coast, the area around Bermagui seems to have a few?

My daughter is a Harry Potter tragic and we are thinking of taking her to the display for her birthday. The bloody display is only being shown in Sydney.

Just South of Bermagui is Mimosa Rocks, great spots along the beach but can get busy, we will be there sometime during the new year

We also camped at Mimosa Rocks national Park last year - Gillards beach campsite. Awesome spot and some nice large areas for groups. We did get up there about 16/17th Dec and managed to get something as we were a group of 8 adults and 12 kids. Some groups had clearly pitched their tents in advance and don a runner in order to secure their sites.

I think we're heading to Talbotville. Depends on how many others are likely to be coming with us.
If the spelling and grammar are good, it's a post from Lil. If not, the mad Scot is on the keyboard ;)

Don't disagree.

I'm hoping being able to get away on 23rd Dec may help my cause in terms of finding a nice spot......... rsigned to the fact that it won't be a spot on our own.

I think half the people in Australia that own a 4wd try to get in there at xmas and easter...  Mind you, we will be heading down the Buckland Valley and it is getting busier there each year also...

We'll be heading up there Xmas eve I think, so may not be quite so bad. Last year we headed to Big River and had no problems finding a spot...would have been different if we left it til Boxing Day.
