Un-braked CT into Wonangatta Valley Vic?
« on: October 13, 2011, 08:36:39 PM »
I've seen tandem trailers loaded with firewood taken to the Wonangatta Homestead and the valley.  I'm just after opinion about taking an un-braked  CT camper into the Valley.  This will be a Chinese tent top on a standard type trailer with no shockers, slipper springs, although very little weight as the trailer will emulate a tent on wheels.
I have been into this valley on an annul term since 1983 but never with a CT in tow.  Just looking for some info from the Guru's here.  Looking at a Zeke Track entry and exit.
I think it's a do-able thing but looking for some feedback.....

cheers

It has been years since I have been in the valley but if the track conditions and weather ok and you take your time it would be doable for sure.

Would depend on the weather really... but use your judgement on the weekend... I'd happily take our trailer in there, I dont think the track is as bad as everyone makes it out to be, but then maybe its been graded each time I've been through.

Enjoy... :)

I would say Yes, as long as the weight is down. If the weather looked anything near wet i would re-think to take the trailer.

Last cup day is a good example as people were stuck in there for a week or so. I tried to get in with the Patrol and pulled out when the steering direction was an optional extra, I only just got out with a slippery clay track

I rode the zeka spur back in may this year, its was pretty washed out in places but if you took your time should be OK. would be better if trailer was braked.we also towed trailers in but came in from abbeyard side.

Thanks guys!  Has made the decision easier to make.  Brakes are the big factor here so I will look out for rain.....
