Not happy Jan not happy at all
« on: October 02, 2011, 04:19:17 AM »
Good morning everyone I hope u had a lovely sleep!! It's 4am here in beautiful qld and the only real issue with that is it's suppose to be bloody 5am but thanks to day light saving I'm now a hour early for work which should make an already long 14hr day just that little bit longer.
I was aware that it started today however last yr my phone stayed on normal people time so it was all good but for Shits and giggles this yr it decided I needed to get up just that little bit earlier lol anyway have a lovely Sunday and go warriors

Mate, I'm in NSW and I just got up to blog about a sand bog when I noticed your post. At first I just thought this must be some weird things you 'cane toad smugglers' do (stop smuggling them across our border). So I checked and...yep, we have to wind 'em forward too. So you've saved me from being in a time warp all day.
But you see this helps global warming because the sun comes up an hour later.
And about those Warriors. I suppose you cane toad smugglers would hate any team in our fair state -- but it's Manly, the team everybody loves to hate.  I remember you used to ask a punter who they barracked for and they say, "Anyone who plays Manly."

Have a nice daylight saving day and remember that if it wasn't for global warming that bloody cold September we just had would have been even colder -- or something.

Not happy that having grown up in Melbourne and being very pro DST, since 1987 I've lived in QLD, NT, WA, NT, QLD, all states & territories that can't see the benefits, and penalise their businesses by being out of step, time wise, with the majority of the country.   :'(

Yes, having experienced daylight savings and the benefits of it, i love it. But unfortunately i am now in Queensland where the powers to be have decided not to pull into line with the rest of the country.  >:(

Yes, but for those who live in God's country (that's QLD for all you heathens) we don't need to mess with our clocks to make life enjoyable.

If anything you lot should scrap DST and bring yourself into line with the states that are currently keeping the economy afloat!

As at March 2011 Australia's population stood at 22 546 300.  The populations of NSW, VIC, TAS, SA & ACT amount to 15 421 400, some 68% of the nation's population even though taking up only
27% of the 7,691,951 sq km total land mass at 2,082,299 sq km.

So the minority population of 32%, spread out over 73% of the country are holding most of us to ransom, and are costing business and community a small fortune in dollars, and lifestyle convenience.

There should be a national referendum on the issue, and we either all do it, or none of us do.   8)

Yep, and the minority of the land mass holders, the ones that sit in that 27% who can't play football, think it is their right to dictate to the minority population, who control 73% of this great country.

If you are being held to ransom, being cost money, and have an impacted lifestyle, then scrap the stupid DST concept and come back into line with QLD, NT and WA!  I've lived in the southern states, and still having the sun up at 10pm is just crazy, and you reckon us northerns have got it wrong?

And I've lived in Brisbane and reckon the sun being up and broad daylight by 4:00 is crazier.  I also reckon you've got it wrong!   :-*

I like to be able to go to the beach before work for a surf.....waters glassy, no on shores and its awesome to be able to do that. With day light savings I have to wait to 6.30 / 7.00 oclock before the afternoon glass off happens and usually miss the morning surf.........they are my purely selfish reasons.............

Had to tell the GPS I live in New Caledonia to get it to tell the right time. Can somebody tell me why an Australian designed GMS built for a company in Melbourne doesn't know what summer time is?
