Might ring the radio station then!
Had the same thing in bunnings car park in Wodonga last week. They were trying to sell "home theatre system" to anyone that would listen.

A few of the boys at work said they had heard they were about too. They better not have been shopping at Bunnings though!

I don't know what exactly the scam is but the wife got a call yesterday with a lady with a sub continent accent asking about being involved in a car accident. She hung up on her but the wife did say to me she had heard of this scam happening to others....

The wife got a SMS the other day about a car crash, gave a lot of detailed info about insurance claim numbers etc etc. Told us to make contact so we could pay the premium.
Funny thing is,we're on a beach when the prang apparently happened, so we deleted it

Surely the latest scam is the "Medicare" text sent out yesterday which apparently came from the QLD Labor party.  Now we face another 3 years of di%$head independents controlling the country.

Got an add going for the old mans car on gumtree.
Of-course the 1st contact is a scammer.
Now that I got the email address for the idiot, how can I sign them up for a heap of offensive rubbish, any clues?

M favourite scam was from years (13) ago where they managed to nicely scam the scammer.
After they figured out a scammer was wanting to "buy" his computer he decided to agree to the sale, except instead of sending the actual computer they sent a folder with some old computer keys stuck to it, the forum he was on that got involved all chipped in a few $$$ for the shipping but then they put the full value of the real computer on the box, the scammer then had to pay about $600AUD in import duties to get it. And through the wonder of the internet, there were people on the other side of the world who were also on the forum who managed to be there when he picked it up and opened it.

Here is the original forum topic in all it's 80 pages of glory, was a worthwhile read from memory

A work colleague recently listed a car on gumtree and must have displayed the number plates in the photos. He had a visit from the police the other day inquiring if his car had been involved in fuel stealing drive offs  and numerous traffic offences in Brisbane (1000 km away).
It seems people are now printing labels from details found on the net that have matching cars and sticking them onto the number plates of said cars so make sure you block out any rego details when posting photos of vehicles.

Well its been good while it lasted but the ATO has finally caught up with me for serious tax avoidance and tax evasion ..........or so it seems.
I found a message on my answerphone from a James Anderson of the ATO  today offering me the opportunity to call them back before they escalated it to the Commonwealth Court or issued a warrant for my arrest but whatever I do I must not disregard this warning.
He even left a number  - 02 88800263.

How does this one work ... are they trying to get personal details or remote access to my PC or what ???

Cheers
