Rhino lining ????

I'm looking at painting the front and underneath of the camper in a ' rhino lining ' product to slow down the damage from rocks .
Has anyone else used this product / had it done already or used something similar at all ?

Any idea's would be appreciated .

I have a similar product in the back of my ute and a few camper trailer companies on the central coast use this one.... I have had no dramas with mine

my vintage complete campsite as this applied from the hitch back to the wheel arche fronts, seems to protect it quite well so would not harm especially if you do not have a stone guard like me. :)

Is Rhino lining a brush on product? 

The underside of my camper is on the to do lst and I was just going to use one of black rubberised emulsion type products used in the construction industry for water proofing.  This stuff is pretty cheap compared to some of the specialty products, do you think there is likely to be much difference?

we used a tar based black paint for the old mowing trailer that took a beatin and worked well, not a fun job though

ive seen xtreme coating used i have it on the tub in my ute and seen it applied under a camper trailer.

Another Complete Campsite camper with Rhino lining covering the whole front of the trailer including tool box.  Works a treat, ours is 4 years old or so and holding up well, much better than paint!

Looking at their website it says spray on lining.  Has anyone brushed this on?  or has anyone sprayed it, do you need a special gun or can you spray it through a regular spray gun (I would have thought it would be to thick)?

Not sure if they actually just sell the product or if you have to get them to apply it...

It is a two pack type system that sprays on a rubbery type stuff not sure if the nozzles are bigger on the spry guns
you could try to brush it never tried it
It goes off really quick so brushing would be a pain

We have the guys come around to the work shop to spray it on
the would roll up with a trailer with 3 44gallon drums with the different chemicals
They had some sort of pump that would suck out of the drums and then all mix together and then through the spay gun

so you coat everythign underneath, or just the box, or...?

Was it expensive at all ?.
I'm struggling to get a quote from someone to do it , hence why I am looking for something that I can apply myself .

Starting to sound like I should start digging around the back of the shed for the half used drum of Bitkote Number 5 that is lying around somewhere and use that for the underside.

I crawl under with a pump pack of killrust then a week or so later a few cans of spray paint to cover the surface . Really if its starting to rust its not used enough ,  :cheers:

Being a Jayco, mine is timber so I am looking at doing it for water proofing more than rust prevention.

Sorry guys my CT doesent have the Rhino lining
I was working for this mob and the locker boxs on the semi trailers were done with it
Its bloody good stuff have know idea what it costs

Back when I was spray painting we used gravitex alot.Sprayed many a ute tub with it and is used to replicate the ripply stone guard finish on the sills of cars .There are other brands around ,any decent panel/paint supply shop should be able to sort you out.You can buy a underbody "schutz" gun cheap enough to put it on.just need a compressor.....
You can paint over it once dry,just make sure its dry and rust free first as you will lock in anything nasty... once its on..its on.Practice on an old bit of ply or something first.DONT SPRAY IT NEAR YOUR CAR....... ;D

Application...thicker = ripplier finish
thinner = flatter finish

Ask away if you need to know anything else,I will help if i can.
