I have had a good look at one.  I have a Crossover.

It is great, an excellent addition to the range.  Basically it is a Crossover with the rear internal kitchen area removed.  No fridge, no rear wall cabinets.  It keeps the slide out kitchen, but the bench area has been reduced to provide some storage right at the kitchen.  Think Crossover with the bit behind the door cut off.

The optional side pockets from the Crossover have been added to the back wall.

It seems to be designed for people what want no canvas, a queen size bed that can be left made up all the time if you like, the possibility of a table and seats inside and maximum bushtrack ability.  It will appeal to those who always have a fridge in the back of the 4WD.

There is virtually no setup time for a quick overnight stop.  Undo two latches, open the door and push the roof up.  Takes about 20 seconds and you can fall into bed.  And there is room inside to get dressed/undressed.  No complicated doors and canvas infill needed.

It is a cool and breezy as the Crossover.

I have started a sub-forum on the Australia4WD site for VistaRV owners (Crossover and TVK) and those interested in them here:

I must admit I hate it when manufacturers aren't transparent about pricing (not that I'm looking to replace the Ulti any time soon).  The "please contact us for pricing" line turns me right off...

The smaller one is around $50k.

My personal thoughts were that it was tiny - it is basically a hard roof over your bed - which you would have to crawl into as the roof line dips the closer to the pillows you get, and some stand up room at the end and that's it.

That is basically the idea...  If you want more room, but a Crossover.

It is sort of like a Tvan, but has room to standup when getting dressed/undressed and you can fold the mattress over to make a table and seats for 4.

Camper trailer people usually want to cook outside, so that is where the kitchen is.  Plus there is a heap of storage outside in lockers plus some inside in a couple of cabinets and under the seats.

PS  The pricing around $50,000 then there are few optional extras I suppose.

We had a look at them at the latest show in Melb in Nov and felt that the TVK was a bit too small and as it was only a few K's for the Crossover that the Crossover was probably better value but neither really suit us. So still looking and saving until we can afford to buy....Cheers John
