Off to National

Traveling to Willington from Melb want to settle North /West of Adelaide as we go . Can SA Swaggers give me a clue as to where to settle for the night , free camp , van park , your call .

2 hrs drive from Adelaide the Clare CP has a nice camping area and then it's only a 2 hr drive to Wilminton from there.

I wouldn't recommend anything along the highway and the drive through the Clare Valley is much nicer and more direct.

If you're coming via the Dukes Hwy, you could turn of at Murray Bridge and go to Mannum to Bolte Rsv (cheap), or go on to Walker Flat (about 20 kms) up river. This is where we go for a weekend "quickie" (less than 2 hours from Adelaide). Go past the ferry about 800 metres (free camp).
