Black Wolf turbo tent
« on: August 27, 2011, 07:42:45 PM »
Hi swaggers,

Well the time has come to invest in a good tent , since the sale of the KK I have been putting it off and off hoping that a new camper would appear in the shed but no such luck.

I am looking for opinions from people on which size turbo tent and weather the plus option is worth it.

I see that there is a

240 & 240 plus

270 & 270 plus ( only seems to be for BCF ??? anyone shed any light on this)

300 & 300 plus
Now I did the you tube search and can't find a vid of the plus being set up.

What size do you recomend for 2 aduts and 2 kids I am thinking of the 240 plus or the 300 normall .

If you own one any feedback is greatley appreciated.

Note- I have ruled out the oz tent.

We had the Turbo twin lite 300 before we got our CT. It was a great & easy tent to set up & had heaps of room for the 4 of us - 2 adults & 2 kids. If going away for a week though we would put a tarp over the top to provide more outside under cover as standard awnings aren't that big - for a weekend we just used the awning on the fourby
Only downside was the packed up size - length of 1.45m & weight of 30 odd kgs.
cheers

We have the 240. Great tent but only 2 persons comfortably  with luggage.

I'd say the 300 or 300 plus for four.

Cheers, Sam.

We have the 300 Turbo canvas version.  Fantastic tent that has served us well since 2009. Never leaked and we put it up every night for a month on the Cape trip.  We leave the fly permanently attached which makes setup time even quicker.  If you are down the coast at all give me a shout to have a squizz at ours setup.  My folks used to own the 300 plus but they found the bag just too heavy for them.  A lot of room in it however.

I also have a 300. Can fit a queen Matress in plus bunk beds witha little room left. we had the super fly with ours and doubled our space. Had all the room out the front... Nearly doubles the price of the tent but we needed it.

Cheers, Ryano

Hey mate,
We had a blackwolf twin 300 , awesome tent, camp in ten inches of rain at Charlie morelands in it and not a drop came through. Maybe a little large but me and the misses could setup and pack up with ease. Cheers,

You an your missus are equall to whole tribe of people mate  :cup:  I will never ever challange you 2 to a set up comp.LOL ;D ;D

I am leaning towards the 300 standard at present.

Just went on blak wolf website and now the models are 210,250,300 so an extra 100mm on the middle size. also bcf has the 270. But all the neg comments I found online seem to be the 270 from bcf so I wonder if there is a special corner of the factory that the 270 is built in for bcf.???

Not an oztent?

Nah mate I do not like the length folded up and the sloping roof . Bloody good tent though no question ! and $$$ are a bit north.

We've got the 300 Lite Plus. Great tent. Easy to setup and plenty of room. We haven't had it long but I don't expect any problems with it. Remember Anaconda beat any advertised price by 10%. We got ours alot cheaper than cost!

V8ute.

A big front fence LOL ;D ;D

Been flat out building a block front fence , bigger job than I thought , but last pier went up today so now I can refocus on the camping thing , I am itching to get out there mate,

I think the 300 will sort us out, had a look inside the 270 at BCF and it looked a tad small for all of us,

Mate,
We started with the 300, and sold if for what I paid for it to get the 300 plus.
Kids were just not big enough to be in their own tent and it gave us a bit more room.
As others have mentioned, Anaconda beat prices by 10%.
Renno.

We have a 300 plus lite and it suits us for 2 adults and 2 young kids.  A 300 might be just big enough but would not leave a lot of standing room or room for bags.  The floor has been the only real problem with pinholes appearing.  We should've taken more care with it I guess - not so much setting up on gravel  ;D    The canvas versions have better flooring.

We just bought a Coleman instant 8 tent from amazon.  They have a 4 and a 6 man just released in oz but the 8 man is US only at $310 delivered sure beats some of the local tents its easy to set up and pull down without being too long or heavy.  A local shop wanted $300 for the 4 man.  One possible downside it has no fly but is supposed to seal well just a problem with water getting in when you are in and out of the tent in the rain.  I usually set mine up under a tarp so this doesn't worry me.
